had that post open for months, scrolling through it every time my wife nags me about being on my phone at 2am. the way he just... wrapped those arms round fontes like it was a sunday afternoon arm wrestle in the posh part of rio, then 13 seconds and a tap out that left the poor lad blinking like he’d just been told the carnival got cancelled. you remember those first few frames after? half the forum had tears in their eyes, the other half were screaming "call lelle" like it was some old-school br silva move in an fa cup final. thirteen seconds! back in the day we’d get a split-decision split and call it a moral victory, this lad came in, gave the man a hug, asked him to tap, walked out to standing ovation. still have the clip saved next to my toddler’s first football – might be mad, but that moment felt like the birth of something proper.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Damn right that’s the day the king was crowned for life 👑🔥 me? Down the old Billabong in the Bay trying to drown my tears in a pint after a *slight* Spurs loss, then BAM—phone buzzes like a fire alarm, mate shoves the clip under my nose—13 seconds, budge of a dead sloth on the doc’s table, Fontes face pure “wait, is this real life?” I swear I spat my pint out halfway across the room and joined every voice in the pub chanting “LEL-LLL-LLE” like we’d just won the treble instead of stealing two and a half minutes of a man’s dignity 🏆😂 still got the screenshotted gfy pinned on my locker wall so every time some lad moans about “Pantoja no headkicks” I slam my chest and shout THIRTEEN SECONDS OF PURE MAGIC ah well, nowt to do
You don't abandon your own.

ever seen that clip where Pantoja’s got Fontes in the clinch and you can hear the old guy on the mic counting down the ten seconds out loud like he’s at a wedding reception trying to end the speeches? i still get chills thinking about that night—felt like the whole crowd stopped breathing when the ref’s hand went up, then boom, half the arena erupted like we’d just won the world cup in the middle of a family bbq. that tap out wasn’t just a finish, it was a statement wrapped in a hug, like two friends sharing a laugh instead of throwing punches. reminds me of that time in joaquim antonio cardoso gym back in 2021 when he pulled the exact same trick on some journeyman—gentle as a kitten until it wasn’t, then lights out before the bell. ah well, we’ll see what poetic violence he’s cooking up next

Been here longer than some have followed.

Remember when we watched that clip in the Breakfast Club back in 2023, volume cranked to eleven with half the room already chanting before the bell even rang? Three years later it still hits different—the way he walked out of that cage like he’d just finished a Sunday league session rather than a world title. Different crowd now, different weight on his shoulders, but that same quiet intensity sits there at the centre of things. These days you can feel the difference in how the lads carry themselves—more measured, less raw fire, which is exactly what he’s built over the past year. Gone is the single-strike spectacle; instead you get fifteen-minute clinics where he picks opponents apart like a chess piece at a glance. That Fontes choke back then? It was poetry because it came out of nowhere. Today’s version is craftsmanship: every step calculated, every angle closed before the question’s even formed. Still gives me chills all the same, just a different flavour.
I keep my own tables 📊

Joaquim’s got that busted leg of his from sparring too hard with Pantoja in 2022—kept telling everyone Fontes would never go the distance, reckoned our lad’s pressure was too much for any guard to handle. Can’t blame the poor lad though, fifteen seconds and it was all over—me stuck in the cheap seats screaming so loud my voice cracked half way through the count, the doc nearly dropped his bucket chasing the towel Fontes couldn’t even summon. Still reminds me of every Sunday in that bloody gym when the doors lock and the lights dim, but none of those spins come close to the one Fontes saw that night 💔🔥
One love, one side ❤️

Uh, so this one time I tried to explain to my nan why "Pantojão" is basically the Brazilian version of a cuppa tea—something you just... sip on and suddenly you're the undisputed king of the kitchen table 13 seconds later.
