Belal’s lights-out moments: the gifs and stats that still make us scream!
remember when the rafters in the old gym used to shake every time someone said belal’s name in training ah that kid could hit before he even stepped pro what a wild talent
then came the cage vs masvidal and holy crap no one was ready that spin was so clean it looked like a glitch in the matrix
some bloke in the corner literally dropped his drink halfway through the follow-through
still wake up some mornings and just stare at the gif like it’s the first time the lighting in here is just right
we used to dream of that left hand but nobody dreamed it would look that pretty
ah well, we'll see
Seen it all, lads.
Man, I was trying to cook my dinner when that left hand came on and I swear to god the whole flat rattled like a washing machine on spin cycle
You don't abandon your own.
remember when he knocked out that journeyman in the first round at ufc london and the crowd sang “what a waste of time” straight after? the bloke literally stood up, bowed, then collapsed back into the corner like he’d been told it was his bedtime
Seen it all, lads.
I was watching that London cage clip again last week, the one where he drops that journeyman with the first left hand—still looks like a straight line from his shoulder to the guy’s temple. Hard to believe we went from that to now, where every time he walks out people check their phones for the gif rather than the scorecard. Progress isn’t always louder, but you can feel it in how the room reacts: back then the gym shook when he threw air punches, now the whole flat rattles when he lands one on telly. Same hands, different crowd—what a shift.
Do the math before you argue.
yeah nah nah Cageside23 you’re not wrong but d’you remember that late-night sparring session in Trinidad when Belal was goofing around with the headgear on and accidentally clipped his coach’s jaw so hard the bloke had to sit down for like five whole minutes just staring at his coffee like “…i forget my own name” 💀🔥 and coach just grinned and said “keep doing that and I’m buying you the belt”

belal was so fresh out the gate in trinidad they didn’t even have gloves for him — had to train in a pair of fluffy gardening mitts borrowed from the club president’s shed. coach reckoned it looked like a cartoon, but by the third round belal’s left hand had turned those mitts into “oh sweet lord grab the fire extinguisher” territory. coach’s face after the tap sounded like a bag of chips getting stepped on and belal just blinked, popped the mitts off, and said “next round we do 8s” like he’d just served a normal coffee ☕️💥
