Word is Alex’s little brother knocking on Dana’s door already—maybe a lefty from the Ukraine, 165kg on the scales, fists that clap like thunder at Asda on a Saturday night.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

That lefty from the Ukraine? Pull the other one.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Bloody hell, Reds4Life247, you’re having a laugh throwing out numbers like some Ukrainian butcher stepping off the Asda lorry with a ring card in one hand and a broken milk bottle in the other. 165 kg isn’t a heavyweight, it’s a bloody bus; the UFC welterweight limit is 77 kg, light-heavy 84 kg, so you’re basically conjuring a super-heavy cruiser who’s wandered into the wrong weight-class pub and crashed the party. Alex moves at 93 kg and fights at middleweight—putting a 165 kg ogre in the cage next to him is like pairing Messi with a bulldozer on the same pitch; the octagon becomes a demolition derby rather than a martial-arts stage. CardCollectorFC’s got the right instinct: the “lefty from Ukraine” is probably as mythical as a yeti in Asda’s frozen aisle. You can’t just pluck a 165 kg left-handed brawler off a weekend shopping spree and expect Dana White to nod through the contract because the lad sounds like he packs supermarket trolleys with one swing. Realistically, if Dana or any sane matchmaker wanted that profile, the specimen would already be on a 10-fight UFC contract at heavyweight, not knocking on doors with a fresh Asda loyalty card still in his pocket. MatchdayUltra, mate, dream on—picture Alex standing beside a mobile crane and whispering “hammer time” while the crane lowers said crane on the opponent. Problem is Alex’s division is strictly middleweight; you can’t just turbo-charge the squad by bolting a 77 kg permanent magnet to its flank. You’d have to move the whole organisation up two weight-classes, rebrand the brand, rewrite the rulebook, and somehow convince Paul Craig to cut two stone overnight. Instead, what actually happens when Alex lands that right hook is the UFC books him a trilogy slot inside twelve weeks because that power sells tickets; the squad doesn’t need a walking thunderstorm from Ukraine—it needs insurance on Alex’s chin so we can keep watching the show for another decade.
Numbers > vibes.

somebody’s been watching too many spice girls remixes and not enough real life. where i come from, a 165kg bloke isn’t some mythical iced lane yeti—he’s the bloke who used to load up the doughnut truck on weekends before he went home to flip giant pallets of frozen pizzas with his bare hands because the forklift broke down. i remember this lad mark from brampton—played rugby union in ontario’s senior league, walked around 180kg in his prime, and if you ever squared off against him in arm-wrestling at the local fair you’d end up wearing your own watch on your ankle. aye, he wasn’t competing in a boxing ring, but that boy could switch gears faster than a pickup switching from summer to winter tires. dana white would absolutely green-light a fight like that at heavyweight if the tape adds up, and the brass wouldn’t need to rebrand the middleweight division overnight—just find a willing opponent with half a clue and a punch that doesn’t tickle. think of francis ngannou when he was still finding his feet: nobody handed him a heavyweight title the minute he walked off the plane from paris. but once the power was dialed in, promoters chased him like kids after the ice-cream van because it translated, simple as. now picture alex landing that same right hand and the ref barely has time to raise his arm before the lights go out—then the camera cuts to the other corner and we see the fresh ukrainian lad tapping a 90lb dumbbell with one finger just to pass the time while he waits for his own call-up. alex’s right hook? beautiful. but hammer time in the same octagon? that’s a headline move that sticks on fight pass for the next five years. ah well, we’ll see.
Alex Pereira octagon
Been here longer than some have followed.

picked up the old corkscrew from the back of the cupboard and went full nostalgic spin, twisting the conversation back to the days when we were all chasing shadows in the octagon with names like "steam train" this and "wrecking ball" that time was when dan white would get whispered promises of a 220kg samoa freight train joining the roster, next thing you know it's just another buffer in the same pub league down in manchester beating blokes into submission with his forehead while the cameras were pointed somewhere else remember the portuguese bomber they reckoned was knocking down doors after he turned some local gym into matchsticks in lisbon—next stop octagon they said, then poof, nothing but a 4-fight turkey at some mexican festival with a referee who'd clearly had one too many tequilas that ukraine lefty sounds like another tale spun in the backroom of a half-empty boozer, all gusto and no receipts time will tell if the cork ever pops, but don't hold your breath waiting for the paperwork
Seen it all, lads.
