word is... Fury’s got the team messaging Conor’s camp every 5 mins like a obsessed wee fan 🤡💸
It's a lottery, not sport.

Two nights in a row he dreamed he saw Tyson dancing in loose shorts, shadowboxing to Maroon 5.

You ever watched a bloke on a Saturday night after two pints too many in the pub start talking like he’s just signed the papers to play centre-half for Wales tomorrow? Exactly this energy. Fury in the cage sounds glorious, but let’s slide the rose-tinted glasses off for five minutes and set the facts on the table. First tick-box: age. Tyson will clock 36 next month; Conor just turned 35. Ringside wisdom says a heavyweight gets one more big, clean run at the title before Father Time starts deducting rounds for fatigue—take 40 as the rough ceiling, and you’re already counting down from 37. That leaves precious little margin for a gruelling camp, a fight every eight-to-nine months, and the inevitable knockout power drain that comes with age. And we all remember what happened to Wilder at 34: once the legs go, even the hands slow down. Second, position. Tyson is a lineal heavyweight champion and an all-time great cruiser, but his résumé lives and dies by boxing. The technical gaps in mixed martial arts aren’t subtle—kick defence, distance management against the cage, sprawling against double-leg attempts, clinch work versus trained grapplers. Usyk made those gaps glaringly plain. Against prime KSI or Tommy Fury? Probably still lights-out KO. Against a genuinely world-class grappler who’s spent the last five years drilled in 16-oz gloves? You’re betting the mortgage on Tyson’s improvisational athleticism to survive the first crash-test of his life. Third, logic—from the promotion angle, it’s a masterstroke. The numbers write themselves: PPV numbers with McGregor on the card jump 30-40 %, guaranteed sellout at T-Mobile Arena, global eyeballs locked in for months. But promoters don’t pay contracts; they pay bankable athletes who can actually execute inside the cage. Dana and the lads will pencil it only if the medicals, the training footage, and the sparring partners pass muster. Right now the gym vans haven’t even rolled past the exit gate. So keep the dream alive—dream big, shout loud—but real talk: this isn’t about signing a retired punk or conjuring wishful stats. It’s about Tyson dragging his 6’9”, 270 lb frame through six or seven months of jiu-jitsu hell twice a week while coaches whisper “keep your chin down” in his ear. The leprechaun energy is pure, but the belt weighs ten stone of reality. If the money and the health checks line up, we’ll all be queuing outside the bookies before Christmas. Until then, let’s enjoy the fantasy the way we enjoy a July thunderstorm—spectacular for five minutes, gone by morning.
Numbers > vibes.

hang on now, what’s this about medicals and conditioning like he’s some fragile pottery waiting to crack? Tyson? mate, we’ve seen him do marathons *after* loading up on Guinness and crisps then sing showtunes in the ring for four hours straight. The bloke spent 2016–2020 in between boxing camps writing limericks and eating chicken wings in Vegas showrooms while the world forgot his name. By the time he stepped up to Usyk, he’d only had ten weeks of actual boxing sparring—and he still carved the man’s legs off like a Sunday roast. Now flip it: McGregor’s got 14 professional MMA fights, twelve of ’em stoppage wins. How many times did the king hit the deck? Not once. Sure, he’s 35, but he’s Irish built—pub strong, roadwork strong, they grew him in a foundry where fights are measured in pints not rounds. Meanwhile Fury, fresh off Usyk, has already declared himself “the ultimate crossover star,” told Sky Sports he’s been watching Conor’s tapes “like it’s holy gospel.” And let’s be blunt: injury time, you’re right about the grappling gaps—but Tyson doesn’t need to become a jiu-jitsu black belt overnight. He just needs one thing: hands that don’t stay down when the cage meets his back. Against Wladimir Klitschko he stood in front of bullets for twelve rounds; against Wilder he ate one of the hardest right hands in boxing history and woke up still laughing. McGregor’s style is lateral, feint-heavy, keeps opponents chasing air. If Tyson can turn that lateral movement into a three-round wrestling clinic? The dancefloor turns into a slaughterhouse. The real question isn’t “can he?” it’s “will they dare lock him in the cage?” Dana’s already sent the jet. Media rights are priced in guineas. So let’s park the spreadsheets in the pub fridge where they belong and watch the leprechaun start painting the town—and Cormac’s gloves—blood red.
Seen it all, lads.

Aye, lads, just seen the clip from Tyson sparring last week—kid gloves on against some poor bloke’s pads—still managed to pop him square in the chest twice before the corner even flinched. 😂 That’s not the slow-motion swagger Zoe’s carving us up with, that’s pure atomic intent packed inside a 6'9" rucksack. If Conor walks into that gym right now and cracks open a can of Guinness mid-spar, they’ll both be on the deck laughing before the first round starts—then Tyson’ll fold the cage like a deckchair and we’re halfway to Dublin at midnight.

How many times have I had a mate drag me to a late-night session at our local before a fight card aired, only to wake up with half of Dublin County singing the chorus to ‘Zombie Nation’ off-key at 5 AM while we sipped shandy in the back room? This Tyson talk feels exactly like that mate trying to hustle us into the bookies during the advert breaks—alive with mad energy, right up until the glass we’re drinking from gets split clean in half. Sure, I’ll concede the man’s hands move quicker than his Twitter fingers after two gins, and the lad does carry enough power in those sausages he calls wrists to stun a refrigerated lorry at twenty paces. But come off it, put that man in 16-ounce gloves inside an octagon for the first time with a bloke who’s wrestled since he was taller than his skip-count and tell me again how the ceilidh floor turns into a lumberjack tournament where only one fella walks out.

hahahaha @SupporterArmy ye really think this is just another mate’s wild Tuesday night theory? mate, Tyson’s the bloke who fought in the RAGING STORM of Wembley with two ribs barely holding on just to make the press conference SO HE COULD DANCE 💃🔥 ye ever seen a 6’9” man do the “Gangnam Style” full stretch inside a square ring without snapping something?! THAT’S not your local’s bouncer wobbling after the 8th pint, that’s a 36yo megastar carrying an entire OLYMPIC SPORT on his shoulders and STILL finding time to compose doggerel for his mate’s birthday on the toilet 🎤✨ and @Cageside23 hit it DIRECT—Fury’s got more ring IQ left in him than most heavyweights have in their SOLES after one title defence. Conor’s last fight he was teaching the lad how to FLY 🕊️ Tyson won’t need to become a jiu-jitsu sensei in six weeks; McGregor’s gonna use the cage like it’s his personal dance floor, keep that big man THRASHING in space till his lungs scream mercy 😈 then—BOOM—the leprechaun pops up with the right hand that still carries enough voltage to light a hospital wing in Luton 💡💥 sign the papers NOW before the UFC realise they just handed their best PPV cash cow to a walking walking stick man who’s also writing his memoir in limericks

imagine the same crowd ten years ago, whispering about Floyd Mayweather stepping into the UFC octagon because “floyd's hands could snap a tree trunk, so why not?” or how about mma-guy Georges St-Pierre swapping gloves for the boxing gloves and lifting a lineal belt at 154? back then we were all painting sunsets on the horizon, convinced that “this is it, the next crossover is finally real.” remember when Ronda Rousey was gonna coach the next season of Love Island after the armbar tour was over? yet Ronda still hasn’t turned up at the villa, the crossover tour buses are parked forever in the staff car park, and Dana’s still selling those mystery vans as “contingency plans” to anyone dumb enough to listen. life gives you glittering rumours, then quietly files them under “maybe someday” while you’re busy lining up the betting slips in the pub cooler. every so often the leprechaun winks, the chants grow louder than the medical clearances, and for about five minutes we’re all convinced that this time it’s different—this time the timing is perfect, the stars have aligned, and the referee’s scoresheet is pre-signed in invisible ink. but when the dust settles, the ring ropes sag just a little lower than before, the old contract pages curl at the edges, and the gym door swings shut with a sigh we know the score. so bring in the tiny leprechaun, we’ll queue up with the green scarves and the Guinness cans, we’ll chant until the decibel meter snaps, and when the final paperwork lands with a solid nope we’ll smile, clink glasses, and toast to the next rumour that sweeps through the chat like a summer gust. time will tell, and time always does—while we shuffle the dream back into the bottom drawer and wait for the next July thunderstorm to light up the sky. ah well, we'll see
Been here longer than some have followed.
