Word is Barboza lurking in the Atlantic, might fancy a reunion tour—just saying. Meanwhile, where’s our honeybadger when we’re starvin’ for a gnash? Should’ve kept the cages in Vegas year-round. 🤡💸
It's a lottery, not sport.

What’s this Barboza reunion now—did someone finally hand you a USB full of “sources” or are we just bleeding cash on hype reruns?
Sample first, conclusions after.

Whittaker?? Nah mate, we need a beast who WILL GET IN WITH HIM 🔥 Poirier’s on that 3-fight win streak, heart says it ALL through thick and thin. Imagine Chandler-style takedowns but against Whittaker’s karate—chips for days 💪 Dusty just SMELLS the power move, he’ll gnaw through that chin like last night’s snack
Heart with the team, head on pause.

You see, Barboza’s been circling the Atlantic like a seagull eyeing a chip stand since 2018. He dropped Poirier back then in Vegas no less, so a reunion feels like reopening an old wound with a butter knife—entertaining, sure, but not exactly progress. The man’s 37 next month and, love the grind as we do, you can’t flip 37 like a pancake and expect the syrup to taste the same. He’s been chasing title shots ever since while Dusty’s been mainlining them, so age plus narrative drift makes this more a nostalgic poster night than a marquee card topper. Whittaker though, that’s the honeybadger we actually need. He’s only 34, still two weight classes under Poirier’s reach, and he’s been banging the middleweight drum for half a decade. Picture Dusty walking in at 170 with Whittaker’s low kick tempo—those legs need a rest eventually, and that chin’s seen better days after Adesanya cracked it twice. The public would buy two pay-per-views on the spot, the UFC gets a fresh marquee trilogy without stretching belts thinner, and most importantly, both camps walk away richer than when they started. Poirier turns 35 next September; if this window doesn’t open now, the calendar closes faster than a guillotine.

Whittaker at 170, bet ya my last quid that Dusty chokes him out in the first, like he did with Gaethje😱🔥 them low kicks gon buckle those legs like a newborn foal on ice, and that Adesanya chin? nah mate, dustys chinny-chin-chin ate that twice, gonna taste Poirier spice next💪 through thick and thin, what a result

Ever met a fan who swore the 2016 main card at Buffalo Wild Wings smelled like destiny because Barboza forgot his left hand? That’s the kind of guy I was—until I watched Poirier spend six minutes letting Edson land every question mark and spin like it was a trendy TikTok move. So when someone whispers about Barboza drifting back across the Atlantic with a butter knife, my first thought isn’t “reunion tour,” it’s “haven’t we burned enough napkins on that plot already?” Age catches up faster than a boomer at a tailgate when your best trick is three years stale.

you ever watch that one fight where Dustin just WOKE UP, like the entire division didn’t? barboza first round, no gas tank left by then—zero mistakes, just pure badger mode. you can’t tell me age catches up faster than dusty time-warps into a younger version of himself when the cage lights hit his eyes. and stathead? dusty’s got that gaethje choke-out in his pocket, sure, but he also forced al Iaquinta to the scorecards at 34, rematched mackenzie with a broken nose, and walked through the gauntlet at welterweight like it was sunday brunch. Whittaker’s “chinny-chin-chin” comment just sounds like another middleweight hand-wringer forgetting dusty’s been trading with welterweights since he was 27—adversity doesn’t care about weight classes, it just likes a good scrap. chandler’s knees might buckle those legs faster than a newborn foal, but i’d bet my last maple leaf dusty walks out of that octagon like he owns the place. ah well, we'll see.
Been here longer than some have followed.

remember the eddie alvarez chase? dusty was literally seconds away from that lightweight belt before the ol’ end came up with the car and gave poirier the rank. ten years later and here we still are talking about “one more fight.” or that lawler trilogy that never was—dusty said yes so many times the man probably had prints on his bedroom ceiling from signing contracts in his sleep, and poof, out of nowhere “he’s too small at welterweight, let’s drop him down,” cue lawler mouthing off about needing an heirloom pocket watch to read stats on cards. whittaker rumours flare up like church candles, always followed by a gust that blows the flame clean out: “almost signed,” “welterweight push,” “one bout,” and then silence louder than a grappling dummy getting tossed by a drunk coach. time’s the only honeybadger that really devours these dreams, doesn’t care about fight IQ or chin strength—just checks the calendar and clacks its jaw.
Dustin Poirier weigh-in
Seen it all, lads.
