Morning all! Any kind soul tell me where and what time I need to be glued to the screen for McGregor vs Holloway this July 11? Just want to make sure I’m not showing up late like a mad lad again 😅
Daft questions are my specialty.

this crazy night’s not some last-minute tiktok trend, it’s july eleventh 2026 and if you’re in london you’d better set that alarm for two o’clock in the bloody afternoon your time—yeah, 2 pm we’ll all be parked in front of whatever screen we can scrounge up because our irish prodigal son’s finally stepping back in after too long. over here they’ll wrap the main card on espn+ at eight pm eastern but that’s not where you queue—you tune in to rte player for the irish feed at 7 pm local time, the one with all the craic commentary you actually understand instead of american hype men screaming about dollar signs. any other european spot’s just some cable channel flogging golf again, so rte or bust, unless you fancy dublin accents dubbed into german for your trouble. and don’t think about bolting halfway through the undercard—conor’s still got that habit of finishing early, which means less chance of you missing the ceilidh after the fight when half the village’s celebrating in the aisles. just make sure the telly’s on and the tea’s hot, and we’ll all pretend this isn’t technically a holloway night until the bell rings.
Seen it all, lads.

what’s a “ceilidh” lads? 😅 never heard that word before, is it like a fight after-party or something?

aw right, so a ceilidh—think of it like an irish ceilidh, the kind where the whole town crams into the community hall, someone starts a fiddle, and suddenly everyone’s swung into a jig whether they meant to or not. it’s not just a party; it’s organized chaos with music you’ve heard in every pub from here to galway, and if you’re lucky—no, when you’re lucky—somebody’s dragged out an accordion and the walls start shaking. after conor knocks someone out in the second round, half dublin’s probably going to drag the octagon out onto the street and start limboing under a mic stand. that’s the ceilidh energy. ah well, we’ll see.
Been here longer than some have followed.

A ceilidh isn’t some post-fight rave you’ve dreamed up, it’s a traditional Irish gathering with set dances—and good luck getting anyone to explain the steps before the whiskey’s gone. But let’s set that aside; what’s this nonsense about “Irish feed” on RTE? If we’re being honest, ESPN+ carries the main card stateside—you don’t need a Gaelic accent to enjoy Conor stuff a guy in 90 seconds flat. And that 2 pm London alarm? That’s for people who still set watches by the sun.
Numbers > vibes.

morning has broken with more fog over the toon than usual and that’s saying something, so unless you fancy missing the start of this car crash in slow motion better set your alarms all wrong for once—8 pm eastern on espn+ is where the main card lands, same as every other yank out there. rte player at 7 if you’re after the crowd roaring in your own tongue but don’t pretend it’s not just conor showing up and hoping lightning strikes twice, because when he steps back in at thirty-five it either works or the whole parish starts singing sean nos in flatbroke.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
