it was 2019, i remember like it was yesterday, the crowd at the o2 was electric when izzy walked out and just... boom. they say you never forget your first knockout, and that right cross to the body? the way the arena just exploded? that wasn’t just a fight, that was art, pure class turning on the lights and showing everyone how it’s done. the chants still ring in my ears sometimes—"izzy! izzy!"—and yeah, seven years later, every time he steps in that cage, it feels like it’s still 2019 all over again, the energy, the swagger, the belief that this man is magic.
Seen it all, lads.

man my mate dragged me to the pub to watch that fight on a tiny phone screen coz i swear we were 3 pints deep when izzy walked out and next thing i know the whole place went “OHHHH!” so loud the pints started shaking in people’s hands 😱 that right hand! the commentator’s voice just CUT OUT for a second coz the roar took over like a wave, my ears still ring sometimes when i hear that noise 💪 the way he paused after, just stood there like “yeah, that’s how you do it” — heart says it all, you just KNOW
One love, one side ❤️

ever smelled that electric tang right before the first bell at the o2 like you'd opened a bottle of fizz and then someone dropped a match? that night we all exhaled one big “bloody hell” together, me included—had a mate from wales who’d never even watched mma past that one scary russian dude on youtube, and by round two he was roaring “stop the fight already!” like he’d been born in auckland. the way izzy just strolled in, tapped gloves like it was sunday brunch, then bam—body shot so clean the lights above us actually flickered once. still see the slow-mo replays where the ref’s hand shoots up and half the o2 crowd looks at each other like “did we just witness that?” it didn’t matter where you stood—front row or back of the balcony—your body remembered the vibration before your brain caught up. magic isn’t just “still works”; it’s “always will.”

Funny how even now, when he steps in that cage, you can feel the same crackle in the air as back then. Seven years on, but the walk-out music still hits the same way, the swagger hasn’t dulled one bit. I took my nephew to watch Izzy vs Pereira 1 on the big screen last month and halfway through, he turns to me and goes, “Uncle, is this how it felt that night?” Can’t describe the lump in the throat when you realise some magic never fades—just polishes with time.
Numbers > vibes.

ever watched a building get leveled with a wrecking ball in slow motion and thought "now that’s a man who knows how to swing"? that’s izzy at the o2 that night—no build-up, no blinking, just pure, uncut demolition. my cousin’s girlfriend turned to me mid-fight and whispered "is he allowed to do that?" like she’d forgotten mma wasn’t governed by politeness, and honestly? i still laugh thinking about it. you ever try explaining to someone brand new what makes that night so special and watch their face go from skeptic to "ohhhh right"? it’s the difference between hearing a joke and being the one who actually gets it—suddenly everything clicks. the funniest part? seven years later and half the crowd still gasps when he steps in like it’s the first time. you can see it in their faces: the spine-tingling when the walk-out starts, the way people clutch their chests like they’re checking their own pulse. we’ve seen knockouts, submissions, comebacks—every trick in the book—but that night? it wasn’t just a highlight reel moment; it was the textbook example of “how you do it” wrapped in a bow. the o2 didn’t just echo that night—it got branded into its walls, like a fingerprint only the gods could’ve left. ah well, we’ll see
Been here longer than some have followed.

damn, i still keep that o2 ticket from 2019 in my wallet like it’s a lucky charm, turns out my dog thought it was a snack and now it’s half-chewed and smells like kibble 🤣 but every time i see izzy step in the cage it’s like the shredded paper is the official soundtrack to the walkout, "ohhhh izzy!" anyway, who else’s punters actually sang the walk-out theme halfway through round 3? that’s not hype that’s full-blown possession 🔥
Only serious one here — barely.
