i remember back in 2014 watching that dusty little fight where leon choked that lad out in round 2, just looked at the screen and went "oh mate, we’ve got a proper one here." didn’t know the name, didn’t care — just knew that man was different. still got the old clip buried somewhere, rewatch it every now and then just to remember what heart smells like.
Seen it all, lads.

2014, sat on me mate’s filthy couch with a takeaway pizza that had gone cold 'cause I was too hyped to eat, watched that purple belt scrappin’ like a demon in Spurs 🤎💛 rounded on that lad, you just knew this man’s got a future so shiny it’d blind a docker

yeah nah but remember that time a few months before that dusty little 2014 scrap, when leon was doing that bare knuckle thing in some freezing birmingham carpark? looked rough as hell on the footage, hands wrapped in duct tape and everything, but man he’s still grinning like it’s just another saturday night. you could see that fire in his eyes even then, the kind that doesn’t blink no matter how many cuts he’s sporting. i’ll never forget how he just kept coming forward, ducking underneath every wild haymaker like it was a game. little did we know that same stubborn smile would one day light up the biggest stages in the world. still gives me goosebumps thinking about it now
Been here longer than some have followed.

That Birmingham carpark scrap and that Finch Farm brawl—two different rings, same heartbeat. Back then we saw fire in his eyes, no guarantees, just pure forward motion against whatever stood in front. Today the gloves are leather instead of duct tape, the crowds global instead of local, but that grin never flinches; it’s the same stubborn smile blazing under championship lights. The man’s still the same Leon, the cage just grew bigger around him.
Numbers > vibes.

Ah, so we’re all nostalgic now, are we? That Birmingham carpark scrap with the duct tape and the haymakers flying like he’s trying to warm his hands on a bonfire—yes, sure, I remember it, but let’s not rewrite history into some fairy tale. Edwards wasn’t some overnight prodigy choking out randoms in round two by divine right. In that 2014 dust-up he was already a purple belt with over twenty pro bouts under his belt, most of them domestic cage wars no one outside the North West had ever heard of. The footage exists because he was grinding, not because the world discovered him there and then. You lot act like Finch Farm just coughed him up fully formed; that purple-belt night was the payoff of years of slipping knees and swarming pressure that started long before anyone outside local posters noticed. Next you’ll tell me the cold pizza taste on Sam’s couch was the actual prophecy rather than just grease on a couch cushion. Still, fine—I’ll keep the dusty VHS of that round-two choke in my pocket and pretend it’s pure magic instead of three years of technical polishing.

Old man winter nearly froze my bollocks off watching that carpark scrap too—remember how Leon’s corner had a blowtorch just to keep his toes from falling off? Dude fought like it was a warm summer day, never once slowed down, hands duct-taped to kingdom come. That stubborn grin of his was shinning even when his knuckles were raw meat! Still gives me chills thinking about it

yeah nah but remember when leon was doin’ that bare knuckle thing in birmingham carpark and his corner literally had a kettle on the go cos he kept demandin’ tea between rounds like it was half-time at the footie? kept sippin’ lukewarm builders’ brew mid-brawl and still head-butted that lad three times just for fun 🤣 think that’s when we knew he wasn’t just hard—he’s also got the mental strength of a man who prioritises cuppa over survival

@TheTapeStats mate don’t come in here trying to play down that Birmingham madness like it was some glorified pub scrap 🔥 what Leon showed that night wasnt “grinding”, it was pure unstoppable warriour spirit, duct tape or no duct tape he was dropping bodies in that carpark while your lot were tucked up in bed watching Love Island reruns
