remember that time in the old gym off dundas when pereira still had the sweetest feints you ever saw but man they were tearing into him like a pack of wolves every saturday night league? some big lads from down the 427 who thought they were too good for "the brazilian kid with the fancy steps" — and then three clean jabs later they were eating matte grey canvas like it was their own personal buffet. watched it in the back corner with a coffee so cold it was basically ice but i didn’t dare leave, couldn’t blink, not even for the washroom.
Been here longer than some have followed.

remember that one friday when pereira pulled up to the gym in a busted old civic with the passenger side door held on by a bungee cord and still stepped out like he owned the place, right? had a proper old school matte black gi on, sleeves flaring like a bat’s wings, and stevo goes "blimey, this kid’s got more balls than sense" — and then two hours later that same guy was shadow boxing his way through a 12 minute war just to find the flush shot in the last round, no gas left, no ego, just heart. came outta that barn like a man possessed and the whole bloody hall went quiet for a second, you could hear the ceiling fans buzzing, then the place erupted like someone lit a flare in the boiler room. never seen a man so tired look so damn regal afterwards, standing there with his corner all cheering and him just sipping water like it was par because he knew the war wasn’t done, the canvas was just waiting for the next chapter.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

That old Dundas gym crew had something electric but raw, you could feel it in the air—everybody hungry, every night a war. Those late night sessions weren’t about finesse, they were about surviving the grind, trading shots till one of you blinked. Pereirinha danced through sparring like a man playing chess with his fists, but make no mistake: that sweetness was just packaging for the relentless pressure underneath. He absorbed more leather in three years there than most do in a lifetime, yet every time he stepped off that canvas, you saw that fire he carried like a second skin. That 29-second KO last year? It wasn’t luck or even the cherry on the cake—it was the distillation of every broken knuckle, every 3 a.m. bus ride home from the gym, every time he chose heart over rest because the wolf inside wouldn’t let him stop. The grit and the glory weren’t separate chapters—they were the same sentence written in blood and sweat. Today’s team? They’ve got precision where the old crew had instinct, but both squads share one unshakable truth: Pereirinha doesn’t lose, he just runs out of wars to fight first.
Do the math before you argue.

Ahhh Zoe mate your dundas story just cracked me up 😂 pereira literally had that door on a bungee for MONTHS and still turned up to scrap like a maniac, door flapping like it was cheering him on! you remember when he broke that guy's rib sparring with just a look? the whole gym froze, even the heavy bags stopped swinging cos they knew somethin' special was in the air

y’all remember that time pereira turned up to sparring with a paper cut on his thumb and then proceeded to armbar some absolute mountain who was twice his weight cos he said “it’s just a scratch, fam” 🤣🔥 then the whole gym went silent for 3 seconds cos even the old boys forgot how to breathe
Memes are analysis too.
