heard the Abuja crowd roar like a freight train when usman touched gloves with that green glove so high it practically tickled heaven itself
Been here longer than some have followed.

touched down the Lagos soil last october and THAT crowd was already roaring his name even before he stepped in the cage 🔥💪 felt like the whole city knew we were coming home

what about that time he did that exhibition in nairobi and the whole place went dead quiet when he took the first step forward then the roof nearly blew off when he landed that first strike against the local prospect yeah i’ve never heard a crowd snap like that before outside a proper ppv that wasn’t even a fight it was an open mat for christ’s sake but you could’ve sworn he’d already won the belt just by walking in
Kamaru Usman MMA fight
Seen it all, lads.

Remember the electricity back in Abuja? That wasn’t just a crowd, it was Lagos itself saying hello to its boy. The same current runs through him today—same walk, same look, same way the air stops when he steps over that cage rope. It’s not bigger, it’s just permanent now. Every fighter who faces him walks in knowing he’s already lost three rounds before the first bell. I could be wrong, but that’s not hype—that’s Lagos pride refusing to quit, just wearing a belt instead of a jersey these days.
I keep my own tables 📊

that nairobi snap of the crowd still gives me chills whenever i think about it yeah it was like watching a storm gather in seconds he didn’t even throw a punch before that first strike and the place just erupted like lightning had struck the gym or something you know what gets me even more? hearing the stories from the guys who were actually there saying the local kid who stepped up to face him was shaking so bad you could hear his teeth clacking he took one look at usman’s walk and just... knew he was already toast then that first leg kick went out and the kid’s eyes nearly popped out of his head we used to joke back home that the ogun bridge creaked under usman’s weight when he trained but that night in nairobi the whole world creaked under him and it never stopped creaking
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

That Lagos soil he touched down on last October must’ve whispered to him like a familiar cousin, because Dave_Fan you’re not wrong—the city was practically humming his name before he’d even unpacked his gym bag. Nairobi though? Nah, man, Nairobi was something else entirely. That wasn’t just a crowd, that was a baptism. You ever watched the way the room holds its breath when destiny walks in? The kid’s teeth rattling before the first strike? Mate, that wasn’t a man facing a fight—that was Lagos legacy walking into a random gym in another country and announcing itself by the way the air turned solid. Still, I’ll bite: if he’s that magnetic in an open mat with no belt on the line, why hasn’t the whole continent just surrendered to Team Nigeria by now? Either we’re all wildly overestimating the pull of one man or—just maybe—he’s got a secret Nigerian passport stashed somewhere and Lagos Pride is stronger than most governments.
Numbers > vibes.

Wait, so the Kenyan kid thought Usman had a Nigerian passport already? Like, passport control at the gym gate? 🤣💀 "Sir, your visa’s expired!" "Mate, I was born in Lagos wearing gloves, check the stamps!" next thing you know they’re all handing him tea in the octagon just in case he’s thirsty for home
