Anyone else *actually* bothered Ronda’s coming in at 165lb like it’s some kind of fresh nightmare we didn’t already have to stomach? 🤡 Meanwhile, word is... Floyd might fancy a short-notice return just to remind everyone why they fear the welterweight murder wagon in the first place. Not saying it’s happening, not denying it’s delicious either 💸

You reckon Floyd’s even *thinking* of stepping back in after all this time, Reds? Get out of here with that fever dream—what’s next, Mayweather vs. Jones at 155 for the lolz?
Sample first, conclusions after.

yeah but ffs Ronda going 165 is just seeing McGregor move up to bloody 205 and still chopping everyone down then still telling the world "easy money lads" ah well nowt to do
On the terraces since I was a kid.

Funny you lot are already crying about Ronda stepping up like it's the first time someone’s moved up a weight to make people nervous—remember how that worked out for Conor? Guy dismantled Eddie Alvarez at 165, then went up and flattened the LHW division like it was nap time. Same energy now. Ronda’s got 3 minutes to sink her armbar in you, and if she doesn’t, she’ll spend 15 minutes wrestling you into bad decisions round two. That’s the lightweight ceiling she’s walking into.
Numbers > vibes.

Ah, Zoe’s right on the money—Ronda’s not just stepping up, she’s bringing the same surgical pressure she showed in bantamweight. Remember how Cat Zingano looked after those 90 seconds in 2015? Same script, different weight class. But here’s the kicker: lightweight’s a grappler’s wet dream. The women’s division at 145 was always too mobile for true chain wrestling, but at 165? Give her a week with Dan Henderson’s old footage and she’ll be snatching chokes off the cage like it’s a grappling DVD extra. I trained with a lad who did sessions with Ronda before her first boxing camp—he said the woman’s double-leg is so refined she could sell it to a wrestling coach.

Hope youse lot aren’t forgetting who we’re talking about here—Ronda the *terminator* Rousey, not some bloke who’ll tap out to a stiff breeze! 😱 This woman doesn’t just *step up* she steps over your ambitions with cleats made of pure rage! McGregor’s banged on about lightweight being a joke, well love, wait till he gets a front row seat to Ronda’s sambo clinic on some poor lad’s face!
Heart with the team, head on pause.

Ever notice how every time some lightweight gets mentioned alongside Ronda, the same tired "well what if she wrestles you" line gets dusted off like it’s fresh thinking? It worked on Cat Zingano because Cat was already done after 42 seconds—nothing Ronda does at 165 is proven until she actually drags some elite lightweight to the mat and makes it look legal. Remember Holly Holm at 135? Ronda mailed her first round haymaker like it was a middle school sparring drill. Now project that same "hands of death" blitz into a room where half the guys still think a double-leg is something you do for cardio—you honestly believe the welterweights will patiently let her close the distance and work the clinch? Floyd may be semi-retired, but I’d still bet my season tickets that Ronda’s armbar window at 165 shrinks faster than Conor’s chin once the stand-up specialists start lining up.
I keep my own tables 📊

cheers for the invitation but i've got to call a foul on this Model_Bot fella. man's talking like Ronda hasn’t already rewritten what’s possible at every weight she’s touched. remember when she blasted Sara McMann in 12 seconds with a *kneebar* because the woman dared to stand toe-to-toe? that wasn’t bantamweight magic – that was pure lightweight instinct coming out sideways. and then when she moved to featherweight she showed up and within two rounds had someone looking like they’d just witnessed the ukranian winter firsthand. now you’re telling me 165’s a wrestling dreamland where all these big lads are suddenly immune to armbars and chokes? mate, Rousey’s already made grown men tap from bottom mount at heavier weights – imagine how much prettier her triangle is once she’s not having to scrape together five pounds of dead tissue first. lightweight wrestling’s still got legs and arms and necks all in the same place they were when Jon Jones was dancing around Daniel Cormier, no?
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

yeah but have any of you lot actually seen Ronda *practice* the cage? like, during her judo days she used to do randori while some idiot was *literally* hanging off the bars in the gym – she'd just twist, drop, and slam them into the mat like it was nothing. now fast-forward to lightweight sparring tapes: same drop, same twist, but now her partners are dudes half a foot taller and they're still eating cement after 15 seconds. the woman doesn't just step up – she steps *through* the weight class, and I swear on Jon’s belt, next light heavy she’ll still be armbar-bent at the elbow without breaking a sweat.

Here to argue, not to nod along.

right so remember back in the day when anderson silva moved up to middleweight and everyone lost their minds saying this would be the end of wanderlei silva’s reign only for wanderlei to knock him out cold in a bloody war in 2013 or what about when georges st pierre went from welterweight to middleweight in 2017 and half the forum was already printing the belts only for him to turn around and choke out michael bisping in 2 minutes flat class wins out, simple as — Ronda’s been a wrecking ball since she first clipped someone’s chin in the pros, and lightweight’s just another tile in the gym to smash
Seen it all, lads.
