Word is that a certain "Beast from Juarez" might fancy stepping into 210lbs division to make some grappling magic happen in Brazil 🤡💸 And folks, Alex is the man who’d have him tapping faster than you can say "classic CP left".
It's a lottery, not sport.

You ever notice how the most tedious rumours always smell like week-old Bolognese?
Alex Pereira weigh-in
Where's the proof?

When Goddamn Grapple Machine walks into a room you FEEL the BJJ in the air! 🤼‍♂️🔥 Juarez beast could grapple the eyes out of ANYONE, imagine him slapping that gogoplata on a 210-pound absolute unit? Our middleweight division wouldn't know which way to run! Alex already schooled everyone with that "neck for neck" magic against Jan, now add a BJJ MONSTER from Juarez to the camp? Like, how do you even keep THAT energy in one team?! 😱💪 Where do we sign?!

No, let’s not kid ourselves—this isn’t some fairy tale where Juarez just waltzes into Campinas and gets handed the key to 210lbs like it’s a golden ticket. You want realism? Alex is already pushing 37 in February, going on 38 by the time any hypothetical Juarez fight rolls around. That’s one birthday you can’t un-ring. Now, the Juarez cat himself—I don’t know his exact age, but if he’s the “beast from Juarez” buzzing in the flyover states for ADCC trials, he’s at least late 20s, probably early 30s. You’re talking about two guys whose legs have seen more miles than a second-hand Fiat, all of it uphill. Granted, Grappling Machine is still actively smashing elbows into necks, so he’s got the engine running. But let’s be honest: even CP’s cardio looked like a rental at 36 against Jan—no shame in that, but Juarez would need to out-grapple and out-last a guy who already proved once that five rounds of CP is five rounds of “how many ways can I tie you into a bow.” Add the weight class jump from light-heavy (where Juarez is comfortable and undefeated) to middleweight, where CP already eats 185ers for lunch when he feels like it. That’s a different animal altogether—literally; middleweights hit cleaner, faster, with more of those nasty inside low kicks that can shatter a grappler’s rhythm before the fight even starts. Context matters here. If Juarez wants to chase the grappling cred and the exhibition payday rather than the belt, fine—Brazilian gi grappling circuit is deep-pocketed these days. But if the plan is “walk straight into Alex’s gym and submit him,” that’s closer to fantasy football than anything resembling fight math. The age gap, the mileage, the rule-set differences—it stacks up like a tower of Jenga blocks. Juarez would need six months of Muay Thai sparring just to survive the first round without eating a liver-shot while he’s trying to pull half-guard. And Alex? He’d still have the analytical edge—he’ll study every ADCC match the beast ever did, find the one sequence where he gets scrambled from guard, then hit him with that left straight mid-scramble to reset the chessboard. I could be wrong, but realistically the only way this move happens is if Juarez is looking at a one-fight showcase in Brazil as a stepping stone to bigger grappling dollars elsewhere—not as a legitimate title bid. Otherwise it’s a rookie mistake dressed up as ambition.

Damn, Harry_Blues just nailed the vibe—like if Hulk Hogan walked in with a black belt on his back instead of a sash 🤼‍♂️💥 Juarez wouldn’t just grapple the eyes out of anyone, he’d grapple the will to live right out of ‘em! But here’s the thing people miss: Juarez actually trains out of Atos HQ in California now. You ever seen that dogmatic rolling footage where he’s choking black belts in the gi like they owe him rent? The man’s been soaking up the Atos system for years—CP’s camp could DEFINITELY use that kind of leverage game.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

That opening round against Jan where Alex had him in neck cranks before the first minute even ticked off—best five minutes of grappling I’ve seen from any active middleweight in years. Sure, TrueBeliever_4Life, Atos gym rat or not, Juarez joining forces with CP would be like throwing jet fuel on an already raging bonfire—but let’s be real, the only way this makes sense is if the promotion sees dollar signs and forces the matchup while our guy’s still near peak camp freshness.

Bruv think about this—Juarez not stepping into our 185lb division is like telling Mike Tyson in his prime he can’t throw a right hand 😱💪 When you got a dude who chews up black belts in the gi for breakfast, why the hell wouldn’t he wanna come taste that Brazilian heat?! CP already showed us he’s got the chin AND the IQ to dismantle monsters, so imagine Juarez over here in Campinas dropping gogos on some poor soul who’s been eating his own sweat for three rounds straight 🤼‍♂️🔥 The way I see it, if our boy Alex is still stacking opponents like cordwood at nearly 37, what’s the Juarez beast gonna look like at 32 with a year or two of pure CP-style campaigning under his belt? Nah mate, this isn’t some pipe dream—this is the grappling equivalent of when GSP finally stepped into welterweight and started rearranging faces. Where’s the red tape when you need it?!

oh man, where do i even start with this one… remind me of when they were all whispering about this french lad, what’s his name, the one with the nickname like a chess piece, nigel? no, no… the other one, leonard—no, not that one, the other frenchman, the big kid who used to throw left hands like he was swatting flies. ah, the "colossus" from marseille, yeah, that’s the one. every forum in 2019 was screaming for alex to face him at 205 because apparently the frenchman "loved to wrestle" and had some bjj pedigree or whatever. remember how that one panned out? nothing. just silence after the first round of whispers, then some podcast host somewhere mumbled something about "style mismatch" and everyone nodded like it was gospel. and what happened? alex kept rolling with the usual parade of stiffs at light heavyweight while the colossus? still throwing those lazy jabs in some regional european cage like nothing ever happened. same energy with the juarez talks today, ain’t it? just the latest spark in a long line of "oooh what if" fantasies. time will tell, but i’ve seen this movie before—too many reels of "new grappling monster enters town" only to end up as a side quest in someone else’s highlight reel.
Seen it all, lads.

Saw that "Colossus" from Marseille guy in Vegas back in ’19—sat courtside with a buddy who’d flown in from Paris just for the weigh-ins because the promotion hyped it as “the unstoppable wrestle-boxer vs the mind-game assassin.” Three rounds of Alex rolling away like he was doing math, and the “colossus” ended up looking like a guy who’d trained for a wrong sport. Juarez fans want us to forget that just because someone’s undefeated at 205 doesn’t mean they can weather 185-level straight rights after three minutes of bad cardio. Show me the numbers on a guy who jumps two weight classes and still has gas left for the gogo at 35 minutes.

@BenReds nah mate don’t even bring that clown to the table 🤬 the Colossus ran into a buzzsaw in Vegas, end of story. Alex ate his takedowns for breakfast, stuffed him in half guard, and then—BAM—185-style flurries from deep clinch like he was warming up for a boxing show 🥊 you think Juarez is gonna freeze in those waters? Dude’s been drowning 185lb monsters in the gi for FUN. Numbers? Eh, who cares—class trumps all, and our class is next level. Heart says it all, Ben, heart says it all 💪🔥

Wait, isn't Alex already on that Demetrious-style pay-per-view retirement tour anyway 😅? Like, if they're gonna throw a hypothetical at him, why not pick the one where he's not already 37 and milking nostalgia? Maybe I'm wrong
Daft questions are my specialty.
