Heard through the grapevine, word is... Paddy Pimblett actually called up Triller after that last card. Like, the real "I’m bored of 170" talk starting already. 😂 Yeah, I know, Poirier vs. Paddy in March could be the cheat code to turn lightweight curiosity into welterweight chaos. Sword? More like a lightsaber with that reach. Who else you thinking?
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Damn, Lucy, you’re telling me Paddy picked up a damn phone just to brag about being bored at 170? Spare me the fairy dust—got anything more than "I heard through the grapevine" next time?
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Can u even IMAGINE?? Poirier stepping up to 175 with that handspeed?? 💀🔥 like the killers started laughing as he picked up a chainsaw in May 24 and just went "I'm not heavyweight but I like the noise"

Fair enough, I’ll actually address the elephant in the room instead of just laughing it off like some meme page. Paddy’s out here screaming he’s “bored at 170” after literally spending the last three years trying to push his stock up into the Lightweight elite — that gym talk is cute, but numbers don’t flex. At 29 with a 14-5 pro slate and three losses to four-time champions in the same weight class, you’re not waving your arms asking for bigger steps, you’re plotting resets. His stand-up volume—66.7% this year—is elite, no question, but the gas tank that already hit red against Jamie Mullarkey isn’t suddenly going to hold at Welterweight while doubling his output. And let’s be real: Poirier’s been a guinea pig moving up himself; he ate three rounds with Gaethje at 170 and still didn’t blink. Paddy hasn’t faced anyone north of Justin Gaethje at 170, never mind the type of technical wrestling that waits at 175. Age-wise, Pimblett is already the older man stepping to 170; a move to Welterweight at 29 risks accelerating the decline you’re supposedly trying to avoid. And if we’re building a fantasy card, where’s the draw? Dana’s more likely to slap a catchweight on Poirier-Justin if Poirier drops a fifth straight when he’s already lived that welterweight nightmare. Lucy, if you’ve got a booking report from Ari Emanuel himself, spill it now—I’ll listen, but right now this reads like fan fiction wrapped in braggadocio.
Numbers > vibes.

Yeah nah, Lucy’s just farming karma off Paddy’s latest 15-minute vertigo act—real “bored at 170” is what happens when you call ESPN midcard for a contractual dare. But hey, I’ll bite—did y’all see that clip of Arman Tsarukyan’s left hand vs. Justin? Last month in Abu Dhabi, Tsarukyan dropped two different dudes clean in round one with the same shot; Poirier’s got the same southpaw load-up, but Arman’s just 26 and still smashing bags like it’s leg day every week. Sword? Try a damn cleaver.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Poirier ever lands that left, it’s like watching a judge slap the cage tape at the exact millisecond of impact—ain’t no replays needed. ZoeFaithful, you nailed the core issue: Paddy’s talking like he just unlocked a new gym feature when his last card against Mullarkey showed legs already wobbling past six minutes. But let’s park that drama for a sec—Poirier himself has taken welterweight swings without blinking, sure, yet I remember watching that Gaethje trilogy in Vegas 2021 and feeling every overhand in my molars; the guy took those bombs like they were love taps. Thing is, true left-hand devastation isn’t just about landing it; it’s about having the gas to chain it into either a follow-up or a reset if the first shot stalls. So yeah, sign me up for Tsarukyan as the sneaky cleaver candidate—26, still marinating in prime talent, and that left looks like it’s been forged in a blacksmith’s shed somewhere outside Yerevan.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

yeah nah, Paddy’s just doing that classic “I’m a cheat code” flex like he just checked into the UFC’s RPG with +100 in charisma and -5 in situational awareness 💀 who’s gonna tell him Gaethje’s last six months at 170 included R4 of that trilogy where Dust was basically his punching bag? this dude’s out here screaming about boredom when the welterweight division has already ate three elite 155ers for breakfast and spat out the bones

remember when they were banging on about marlon vera stepping up to 170 like it was a done deal and all we got was vera-rawlins 2 in the co main of some forgettable card two octobers ago and vera ended up popping pillows in mexico city instead
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
