word is… Chandler’s next call-out might just be a certain left-handed kickboxer from Louisiana. 🤡💸😏
Here to argue, not to nod along.

You think this Chandler-to-McGregor link is anything but a shakedown by the UFC’s marketing team? Next thing you know they’ll be floating Khabib coming out of retirement for a third shot.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

How many times I gotta scream it?? Dustiiiin ‘The Diamond’ Porier in that left hand slot COULD make history burnnn 🔥 The man already bled with Gaethje, carried McGregor to the brink… he’s not just a back-up act, nah mate—he’s the closest thing we got to a certified assassin when Mac steps off the throne. Chandler? Selling smoke while our boy could be the KO king we NEED. Picture it: left hand THE DADDY right up the pipe, lights out, trilogy next!
On the terraces since I was a kid.

Porier at 35 would be one of the oldest active lightweights in the UFC—we've seen enough warriors burn out mid-career to know age isn't just a number here. His last true high-level win? April 2023 against Jalin Turner, and since then he's walked out for two decisions that looked like a man gassing in real time. That's not shade, it's tape: reaction times slower than the under-30 division, power output dropping sharply after the second round. Meanwhile Chandler, whatever you think of his wrestling, is still in the prime window where a left hand from Southpaw gets labelled "lethal" by the pundits. Matchmaking won't pair a tiring gatekeeper against the hottest striker in the room. And that's before we get to the left-hand slot itself. Porier's bread and butter? Body-kicks and volume. His rear-left straight lands at 42% the second he opens up, but Chandler's head movement nulls that threat as easily as Gaethje did in their trilogy. You want a finisher that actually walks into a title shot, or do we run another five-round marathon where "the Diamond" sparkles in flashes? I could be wrong, but selling Porier as the assassin who cleans house now feels like wish-casting from a club that's still heartbroken about the throne.

You're overreacting to the tape more than Terrace_Legend. Yeah, Porier’s slowed down—seen it live in Vegas when he scraped past Gaethje in ’21 and looked like a man climbing a wall at 300 quid a night—but the man still carries the left hand that dropped Gaethje in 33 seconds last time it mattered. That single punch was more devastating than half the division’s whole striking output this year. And age? At 35 he’s four years younger than Cowboy Cerrone when he dropped the hammer on Tony Ferguson in 2020. Bloodshed ages fighters faster than birthdays.

That Chandler-to-McGregor link? Absolute FAKE NEWS if you think a left-handed kickboxer from Louisiana beats my man 💀🔥 Mac’s already said he wants real killers—porquoi he waste words on Chandler?! Now Porier though… Dustiiiin right there on the card flirting with old-school KO chaos like it’s 2019 all over again. Remember? That Porier left hand KO vs Poirier in Paris?! Classic 👑 The man steps in, lefty comes up like a heat-seeking missile, lights go out like God himself flicked the switch.
Heart with the team, head on pause.

So you’re telling me Porier’s left hand is a warmonger’s sledgehammer in disguise and we should bank everything on a 35-year-old who looked like he was on oxygen against Gaethje in 2021? Remember the Vegas card: he touched gloves with Chandler—who hasn’t aged a day in his legs—and walked away looking like he just ran a half-marathon after a cheeseburger binge. That isn’t “slowing down,” that’s the tape screaming retirement papers in Technicolor. And the “one-punch heroics” argument collapses under the lightest scrutiny: he dropped Gaethje with a counter that looked like a perfect storm, not a repeatable system. Ask yourself—how many times in the last two years has that left hand clicked for the full 10-count against anyone outside the geriatric wing? Zero. Meanwhile Chandler’s been out there clocking head-kick KOs in Japan against featherweights lighter than he is; that’s your real assassination tool, not Dusty’s mirage from 2019. Also, spare me the Cowboy-Ferguson math—Cerrone was 37 and already a walking highlight reel, not three losing decisions on the trot. Porier hasn’t beaten a top-15 guy this millennium under UFC contract; where’s the evidence the old magic returns? I love the Diamond like the next guy, but this obsession is starting to read like grief porn—hero worship masquerading as strategy.
Do the math before you argue.

ah man, supporters zone went full fireman mode there—like we’re watching Porier run the last mile of a marathon with concrete boots. but let’s park that negativity for a sec and remember who we’re talking about here. Dusty ain’t just some washed-up gatekeeper dropping decisions; he’s got that left hand that woke up a whole division in 2019 when he put that monster right between Holloway’s eyes—holy christmas lights, wasn’t it? that punch didn’t care about age or lung capacity, it turned off the lights like a switch. and yeah, he looked tired in vegas against gaethje, but ask yourself: was that the porier who carried mcgregor to within an inch of disaster before getting robbed? was that the porier who made chandler look like a drunk man waving a stick in a hurricane? dustin’s still got the motorboat engine in that left arm, only now it’s got the wisdom to pick the exact second to pull the ripcord. Terrace_Legend was right about one thing—age ain’t just a number—but it’s also not a life sentence. look at fedor: still swinging bombs at 40. porier’s got that same granite chin and killer instinct, he just chooses his spots now like a veteran sniper instead of a wild maniac. chandler’s left hook is lethal? sure, but so was dusty’s left hand back in the day—knocked out al iaquinta in the first with a shot that had everyone in the room ducking for cover. so let’s not sell the diamond short here. if we want a real assassin to step into the light when mac hangs up the gloves, we don’t need some marketing faker like chandler selling smoke on late-night infomercials. we need dustin porier in that left-hand slot, one clean shot, lights out, trilogy next. and to supporters_zone i say this: watch the tape again, mate—porier’s left hand still has more kill in it than half the division’s whole striking resume put together.

yeah nah it’s not hard to spot the pattern here—this exact chatter’s bounced around before, and the script always flips the same way. remember when everybody was swearing poirier was the man to pair with conor for the trilogy? "dusty’s left hand will drop him first round, mark my words"—except then it turned into a three-fight decision slog where dusty walked out looking like he’d just leg-wrestled a freight train instead of knocking anyone out. and don’t get me started on the "one punch then ride off into the sunset" crowd when they pushed al iaquinta onto the card. that left hand had everybody holding their breath—then al lasted six rounds and we were left counting the ceiling tiles again. so yeah, time will tell if this latest armchair casting survives past the weigh-in let alone the final bell. but if history’s anything to teach us, it usually takes more than one masterful swipe to rewrite these rumours in ink rather than vapour.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
