mind you, lads, i remember the first time i saw one of these trilogies on telly back in the day – must’ve been one of the early ones, the one with the screensaver on the dvd player still flashing. didn’t think much of it then, just some lad with a loose hand and a face like he’s still half asleep. but then he did that thing with the left, and you just knew: this man don’t need a supercomputer to work out the angles, he’s got the self-checkout wisdom built in. the remote’s in my paw now, same as all of you, but my old man’s voice still rings in my ears – “watch as long as i have and you’ll get it.” and blimey, do i ever.
