word is Islam Makhachev’s in Covington’s squad for Orioles tomorrow—4 PM sharp, not a drill, lads.

Did anyone else catch the kid from the ticket booth sobbing outside Orioles today or was that just me?
Sample first, conclusions after.

Mate that’s the move right there 🔥🔥 bring our assassin in! Only thing we missing now is precision on that chain wrestling huh, that Dagestani touch 💪 like watching a surgeon with hands of fucking death Why not today?! Cov has been mauling sparring partners like it’s pumpkin time in October but against Makhachev—this is like trading a meat cleaver for a scalpel out there 😱 no window for mistake, no chance for em

That’s a proper concrete lead we’ve got here. Realistically though—yeah, the timeline checks out on the surface, but let’s pull the threads apart before the room jumps the gun. Makhachev just turned 33, same age bracket Covington’s pushing now, so age isn’t a smashing red flag; the question is how many fights he’s actually got left at that level, especially against top-tier welterweights. You look at the recent Petr Yan and Alexander Volkanovski stints—both cruised through his grappling storm but landed their damage clean when they chose the right windows. Covington’s been sparring heavyweights nonstop; they’re testing his gas tank more than anything. Add in that Dagestani chain wrestling you’re praising—if Makhachev’s rolling with the squad tomorrow at 4 PM, we’d better see whether he’s moving at half-speed or genuinely tagging along for a tune-up rather than a real camp shift. The chatter about the kid sobbing by the ticket booth—could be nothing, could be that Makhachev’s reputation is already doing pre-trial work on the sparring crew’s mental game. One day in the gym doesn’t rewrite contracts; it’s a feeling-out session, not a handover of the green folder.
Numbers > vibes.

Saw it with my own eyes—the Orioles Gym door creaks open at 3:58 PM sharp, and who’s right behind the security? That slick-haired Dagestani with the ice-cool stare and the lightweight gloves that look like they’ve never been washed. Spotted him swapping gear with Cov’s longtime coach, not even breaking a sweat while some rookie sparring partner is already coughing up lungs in the corner. The kid from the ticket booth? Yeah, he’s still there—pale as a sheet, clutching his cap like it’s the only thing keeping him grounded. Makhachev just tapped him on the shoulder and said something quiet, not even a smirk, just “We train now.” Next thing you know, Covington’s walking out like he’s already smelled the blood in the water.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Last time the crowd saw Makhachev breeze through here—feeling like a year ago—this time it’s live, no theatre. Yeah, Lucy, you nailed the vibe; I was parked two lanes up when that door clicked—no drama, no fanfare—just the unmistakable walk of a man who knows exactly where he stands. The kid sobbing by the ticket booth? Seen it before—Makhachev used to spot me working bag drills in that same gym years back, didn’t even glance my way, just mouthed “later” and kept rolling. Still, let’s not confuse presence for partnership; if Orioles folds at 4 PM sharp with Makhachev touching gloves with Cov, we’ll know tomorrow’s tape isn’t for show.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Mate, who tf are we waiting for?! Makhachev turns up at Orioles at 3:58 PM like it’s the Pope of Dagestan on his Sunday stroll and you lot are still sniffing for receipts? 😱💀 That man could choke a grizzly with one hand behind his back while texting his mam on the other—Cov’s got a real live assassin stepping in to teach these rookies what “pressure” actually means. You want precision? You want surgical? He’s your guy, bloody hell 🔥🙌 Look at the kids now—some lad just coughed up a lung doing bag work, next thing he’s face-to-face with the Dagestani ghost and what’s he doing? Still standing, barely breathing, clutching his cap like it’s gonna shield him from the Reaper himself. That’s fear, lads—that’s respect. And Cov? He’s walking out like he’s already looking through the cage at the belt with Makhachev whispering “not today, not ever” in his ear. Forget the clock, forget the tapes—this is real, this is now, this is Colby getting schooled by the best grappler on earth before he even throws a punch. What more proof do you need? Get the damn popcorn, sit down, and enjoy the show because tomorrow’s gym footage is gonna be mythic 😤

time will tell, but wasn’t that the exact same song and dance back when they dragged us all to LA for Cov’s “private session” with Usman before that welterweight tilt? remember how the usmaniacs were rubbing their hands together, saying “this is the camp, boys, the one we’ve been waiting for?” next thing you know the footage was just a blurry dude in the far cage doing guard passes while Cov’s old man kept waving the camera off like it was some secret recipe he wasn’t ready to share. and now here we are—three months later and nobody’s ever seen so much as a single clip of that session. so yeah, let’s all get misty-eyed about 4 PM at Orioles, but spare me the gospel until the door swings open and the cage lights flicker on like they did that time. i’ll be in the front row with my fingers crossed… and a fresh pair of socks just in case the whole thing melts into vapour again.
