sunday mornings back in 2019, i was sat on the couch with a coffee and half a kitkat, watching some obscure 3pm match just because i had nothing better to do — then boom, merab came in off the bench and started rearranging some colombian guy’s ribs like he was trying to knit a new zipper into his spine. that flying knee against murillo wasn’t just a highlight, it was a birth certificate for our boy’s elite reputation. the way the ref barely had to check the replay says it all: no hesitation, no drama, just pure devastation in mid-air. ah well, we’ll see what next season throws at him.

ever seen a man move so fast you forgot he had limbs? had a mate at that fight, big lad, never missed a taproot brawl for years — and when that flying knee hit, his coffee flew straight out of his hand, cup and all, didn’t even see it go. landed on the dog two floors down in the lobby, poor sod thought the world ended. still teases me about it, reckons his terrier’s now got ptsd from the sound alone. cheers for bringing back that memory — still hear the roof vibrate when the knee dropped

Remember when my nan tried to cook Merab’s flying knee into her Sunday roast? She cranked the oven to “Murillo mode” just to see if it’d crisp up the meat faster — ended up evacuating the whole block and called the cops thinking her old shed had blown sky-high 🤣 Then she swore she’d only use slow-cook from now on… until she saw that knee again on YouTube and started waving a wooden spoon like it was a referee’s hand 🍽️💥 still says “it’s just good seasoning”
