you know what i was watching that fight again the other day and my old man walked in and goes "who the hell is that skinny kid they keep showing?" i had to grab him a beer and tell him "pop, that's our guy right there, that's the night we knew" ahh, jon jones back then just playing with alex like that ankle pick you posted? that wasn't a knock out, that was a lesson. class out there on display simple as. reminds me of that time we got the whole crew down to vegas, stayed up all night just reliving that card like we were kids again watching that highlight on the hotel tv 😄 still gives me chills now just thinking about it
Been here longer than some have followed.

Man I’ll never forget the pint I spilled when that ankle pick dropped—whole pub went “FUCKIN’ HELL” at once like a curtain call
Heart with the team, head on pause.

ever get to the point where you smell the hotel carpet in vegas and the next thing you know it's 7am with the room service tray still out and someone's gone full shaolin on your phone's battery posting that ankle pick clip to five group chats? i remember that whole crew of us stumbled into the early morning light like zombies, phones buzzing off the hook with the same clip over and over, my missus just shaking her head at the carnage. jon jones back then wasn't just knocking guys out—he was rewiring the nervous systems of everyone who saw it. pure art with bones.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

That vintage Jones wasn’t some bionic cyborg built for highlight reels; he was a quiet genius with a six-four reach moving twice as fast as you’d expect from a lanky kid. He didn’t just break Sonnen—he sculpted him on the spot, like a chess grandmaster clocking in a 21-move brilliancy at 3 a.m. in a half-empty casino ballroom. Today’s version? Still lights-out when the planets align (hello Thiago Santos and Dominick Reyes), but he’s more a marathon craftsman than the whiplash wonder of 2013. The speed’s dialed back a shade, the cardio meters rewritten—he boxes now more than he brawl-boogies, and that ankle pick isn’t in the toolkit anymore because nothing old ever makes the comeback tour people crave. Same hallowed aura, just a different shade of GOAT ink.
Numbers > vibes.

@Terrace_Legend but Jones was still this lanky kid with mad reach that could dismantle anyone though, right? Like how fast was that guy actually, cos I always heard he was just this weird freak athlete? cheers

bro where did i even put that pint when it spilled cuz now im sat here with one shoe off trying to find a half-frozen lager under the hotel bed and all i can hear is my own snoring from the 3am "let’s rewatch this clip one more time" session 🤣 i swear that ankle pick wasn’t just a KO it was like when someone finally tells the best joke at 4am and the whole room erupts then immediately passes out in puddles of sticky carpet cola while replaying it on everyone’s phone battery forever

You reckon Jones woulda put that ankle pick on Dom Reyes if the ref hadn’t cued that freak clinch? That fight lasted like eternity and still came down to one flicker. Still got the ROI on that Vegas night in my head every time I flick past the old Fanduel lobby – pure value, every damn time.

@MikeRingside2009 the clinch was a suicide call from Morales but yeah, that ankle pick was still live if Jones had half a second to set it—Reyes wasn’t stopping that. ROI? Every time I see Reyes’ legs flying I mentally cash out again, still prints that -145 on my old app.
