Word is Portland might dangle Chandler’s name again after that beastly UFC 303 card—like, they got depth but zero killer instinct, and Gaethje fans already know what MJ brings to the table 🔥

Chandler’s contract turned into toilet paper faster than his leg kicks—why trust Portland’s math again?
Sample first, conclusions after.

LISTEN man, if Chandler’s back they better hook him up with a flamethrower not just a contract 🔥🔥 last year OC SLIPPED on him like a greased pig, but dude still SMASHES skulls in 90 seconds flat HOW CAN U SAY NO TO THAT combo feed K-O in three flurries AND u already got MJ? TWO VOLCANOES ONE OCTAGON that’s not a card that’s a LETHAL TAKEOVER 💀
On the terraces since I was a kid.

Chandler’s head turned 32 in March, so we’re not talking about a spring chicken anymore—Northeast winters aren’t kind to glass chins when you’re pushing mid-career. At 32-2-1 in MMA (and one of those losses was the instant-jackhammer Ko to Dustin), he’s still got that eye-popping one-punch-ceiling but the mileage is showing. His boxing-base footwork used to be flawless, yet last year against Khan he was planting like a Sunday league midfielder—legs moving sideways while the punches fly over his left shoulder. When the gas tank deflates before round two, Portland’s medical staff takes notes and the room gets quieter than a Friday night in Newcastle. Then there’s the contract math. If Portland are dangling a deal now, it’s probably at 1×2 or a two-year with strings; McGregor’s last UFC contract hovered around 1.5 mil per, and Chandler’s PFL run reportedly cleared low six figures because the door slams faster when you start circling back. That’s charity-level coin for a guy who can still run the highlights but struggles to go three rounds without looking like he’s juggling wrecking balls. Add the pipeline logic: Gaethje already has two fire-starters in one camp—do you really triple-dip by bringing in Chandler at the expense of a hungry prospect? The octagon isn’t an All-you-can-eat buffet; it’s a chemistry lab.
Numbers > vibes.

nah mate Chandler last year was pure *potential* waste 💀 but that was OC's mess not dudes—he SMASHED khan in round 1 remember? Punchers punch until they don't, MJ's got the stamina + firehead combo that ends careers in 90 secs flat WHEN he's on it 🔥 that 32 ain't helping but MJ's 33 next month and he still runs on pure hate for his opponents u don't see us whining about age here and three killers? NAH only thing scary about that is the octagon going up in flames too quick—better two volcanoes in sync than three stragglers cos they all want the top spot 🤯 our lot never make it easy but when the hype hits it hits HARD

Yo man, remember when Chandler landed that counter on Khan that dropped him in round one like a sack of wet cement? Absolute dynamite in one hand—then watch him gasp for air in the second round against Pineda like he just ran a marathon carrying a fridge. That’s not "aging," that’s your blink-and-you-miss-it window to "get it done." MJ’s style? Gloves stay hot till the buzzer, body packed like a furnace, but Chandler’s glass jaw turns a slick counter into a retirement video reel faster than you can say "one-shot wonder." Two volcanoes? Might as well book the funeral for the first guy who breathes wrong mid-combo.
I keep my own tables 📊

what even is *sync* supposed to mean when mike jackson was wiping the floor with three guys in one night and chandler’s last *super fight* was nodding to a journeyman midway through round three never mind the 90 second ko streak people keep screaming about—MJ’s walked into buses carrying proper men, not the ghost of pineda’s air supply where’s the killer instinct if the gas runs out before the target’s face is even red
Seen it all, lads.

Chandler last year in the PFL was getting dropped by Khama Worthy in the second round before being saved by the doctor—so yeah, the one-punch myth took a serious credibility hit. Meanwhile, MJ’s been knocking out guys *inside the distance* since 2017, and the only time he’s ever been dropped is when some bum on a weekend special took him out of his depth. You really wanna swap proven results for a guy whose "highlight reel" includes more medical stoppages than actual finishes lately? The Might MJ bandwagon ain’t stopping for gas tanks that sputter before round two 🚗💨🔥
It's a lottery, not sport.

Blowing smoke for Chandler’s return is all well and good until you realize the dude still can’t make it past two five-minute rounds without his lungs sounding like a bag of rocks dragged through gravel. Saw it myself in Vegas last summer—sat cage-side for Khan/Chandler, third minute of round two and Mike’s gasping like he just finished a 10K uphill. MJ doesn’t gas. Doesn’t matter if it’s round one or five, gloves stay hot and he’s still ripping body shots like he’s on round three of sparring, not living the final stretch of a title fight. Chandler’s one-shot ceiling? Showcased it plenty. But MJ’s the whole damn factory line.

gas tank? Chandler's gas tank ran out... in the cage while MJ's still pounding bones like it's day one 🤬 💥 MJ's never gasped, never nodded, never gave anyone a 10K uphill finish line—cos MJ eats lungs for BREAKFAST
Heart with the team, head on pause.

remember the year we thought bonnar would be the second coming after he choked out big john at 20? then his next camp ended with him tapping to a 36 year old journeyman in the first round 8 months later. or when everyone swore mcgregor was about to decapitate dustin in round 1 after that epic entrance, then dustin put the boots to him for three rounds straight and made him cry on the mic 😂 not saying it’ll happen this time, just saying legs talk louder than walkouts ever will
Been here longer than some have followed.
