Someone call Usyk—Leon needs a welterweight shadow in case he ever fancies defending a belt on short notice!

Just caught KSI going mental on his own son after that Manchester loss last night—classic overreaction, mate’s either turning into a dictator or needs a sports psychologist pronto. But speaking of quick fixes, word is… McGregor might fancy a sneaky welterweight run if the cheque’s right. Could you imagine him stepping in for Leon on a 4-week notice? Absolute circus, and half the promotion’s board’d wet themselves laughing.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Ever seen a promoter blink when McGregor’s name pops up next to a “quick 12” clause in his contract?
Sample first, conclusions after.

Heart with the team, head on pause.

That 4-week tag—McGregor’s been out of that welter shape since 2016 and the dude’s forty next month. I saw him in the 155-pound rebuild video last December; he couldn’t carry his front hip past halfway mark before gasping. Usyk at the same weight? Kid’s twenty-two, still growing, and he’s already three belts deep—one of them a cruiser he reeled off in ten rounds flat. You can’t just call up a twenty-two-year-old world-beater on a handshake because Conor’s mopped his brow for five grand in Vegas. Logic says no promoter blinks; it says run the other way.

So they’d sign him for the Vegas rent-a-puncher routine again? This lot forget Conor’s 2016 payday was a garden-shed payday — two million to Leon, two million to Robbie Lawler, and Robbie still walked out of there with his face in one piece. My cousin went up for that weigh-in in Vegas and said the lads were in matching Monster caps and two of them had to help Conor peel his hand wraps off because his wrists were that swollen — dude wasn’t making 170 clean after 12 months on tour, let alone twelve weeks.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Blimey this lot’d swallow McGregor hook, line and sinker faster than I can blink! 😤🔥Listen up, lads—our Leon’s belt’s not some bloody parking ticket to hand over cos the circus comes town. McGregor’s mopped his own brow for a 5k gig at EXPN UK studios while Leon’s been defending that strap like a proper warrior on a heartbreak every single time. You throw Usyk in there? Absolute weapons of mass destruction we’d be sending out, lad would toy with him like a cat with a dead pigeon while singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” under his breath! 💪😱Class trumps cash every. Damn. Time.

Leon’s doing the heavy lifting while McGregor’s over there selling "Champagne Punch" to some YouTuber in a car park—what’s the actual metric here for "keeping the belt in the family"? That’s not belt defence, that’s cosmetics. You ever seen a man cut three stone in three months and still walk upright? Because I haven’t, unless he’s built like a pub dartboard. And Usyk at welterweight? Mate, the kid’s already stacking belts like Lego bricks—he’s not signing up to be someone’s pub quiz answer. Conor’s last proper fight at 170 was Donal’s brother in 2016; that’s five minutes of fame and two extra chins. The welterweight division’s got teeth now—Walsh is rolling in sparring partners, Teofimo’s been carrying that waistcoat round the ring like it’s his business card, and Gassiev’s still throwing haymakers at 40. You think Usyk walks into a casino where the croupier’s loaded a 185 lb wheel? That’s not a shadow, that’s a suicide note dressed as a hit list. Four weeks to get a man ring-ready at welterweight? Where’s the maths on that curve—three pounds a day or does he just sit in an ice bath eating chips and staring at spreadsheets like the rest of us? And let’s be blunt: McGregor’s last real sparring session at that weight was when he weighed more than the average Geography teacher. The only thing he’s carrying clean at welterweight these days is his own mortgage. Give Leon the space to book someone with actual miles on the clock who’s paid to defend the thing, not cosplay as a weigh-in mascot for a one-night Vegas sideshow. We’re talking legitimacy here, lads—not some "Quick 12" clause scribbled on the back of a napkin by a promoter who’s counting the door receipts before the octagon’s even set up.

well well well if Terrace_Legend thinks usyk would get bullied around by a welterweight division that somehow magically got tougher because gassiev decided to throw a tantrum in the middle east then he’s been watching too many fight-week youtube montages and not enough actual boxing remember when adrien bronchbart walked into wells at welterweight with all the belts and got battered like a piñata in the first round? that’s the sort of “top welterweight” fabric these lads are made of? not exactly a stacked casino wheel, is it? and what’s the metric for “three stone in three months” anyway—terrace has never seen a man cut that much because he’s been too busy counting pills in the training centre recycling bin. usyk’s done cruiserweight division—which is still small change compared to welter—and come out on top after ten rounds like it’s a wednesday afternoon jog. that’s three stone of muscle remember, not jelly. conor’s 2016 welterweight was more about ego than weight—he carried 175 pounds of headlines and ego and still managed to gas out before the final bell. but usyk? kid’s never had a glass jaw in his life, and he’s about to turn twenty-three next month. put him in the welter camp for four weeks? he’d walk into those gyms wearing his own belt collection like it’s a tracksuit and come out with another one tagged on faster than conor can tweet about his own fight purse. the man’s already stacking fights like they’re ltd editions—imagine him adding welterweight to the display shelf? would be a full house before the weigh-in bell even sounded.

yeah nah you lot really need to take the brain out of gear and just let this marinate in the "what if" box for five minutes instead of hitting send like the forum’s the main event now remember 2018 when they had Dusty on a stretcher talking up a welterweight title swap with Robbie Lawler cos money was tighter than a gnat’s arse down the toon end? dusty even did that video where he’s pulling his shorts down for the weigh-in like it’s comedy central. two weeks of taping up calls, three days of prelim weigh-in fluster, and by the weigh-in day the whole shebang collapsed cos Robbie’s coach phoned it in with a dodgy shoulder and dusty’s back looked like a fruit machine had spat him out. dusty spent the next six months tweeting about "legacy" from a sunbed in bournemouth. and what about the furore when kelleher was supposed to go up for the interim strap at 170 against welbor—only for welbor’s old man to pull the plug forty-eight hours out cos the EBU wanted more cutman fees than the referee’s union? leon walked out of sparring that day with a black eye and a face like a wet weekend, but nobody batted an eyelid cos it wasn’t our belt anyway. so here we go again: four weeks to weave a welterweight from scratch, same old songbook lads are humming. time will tell if this one gets any further than dusty’s tan lines.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
