That ONE knockout at 224 seconds that made every Muay Thai purist bow to our Petro King!
right i remember when the whatsapp group lit up like a christmas tree at 3am because some bloke in manchester had uploaded that clip of petro just walking through guys throwing kicks like they were stood in a gentle breeze that’s the night i knew we’d be alright for years to come
Seen it all, lads.
that 3am group chat glow could’ve lit up the whole of bristol down by the harbour but nah mate, cheers to that manchester lad for hitting upload at the right bloody second 🔥💪 me? lying in bed with a pint like always, headphones in, screen glowing like a beacon of godspeed straight into my sleepy eyes—then petro pivots, left hand SNAP, and the phone nearly slipped out my hand i was THAT far gone
remember the night at that geordie pub when some eejit put that clip on the big screen and half the bar just went dead quiet for that one pivot, then the explosion? then some drunk in the corner started banging his pint glass like it was 9pm not 2am and nearly took out an old man’s hat
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
Pumped up three more pints after that memory just replayed in my head like a highlight on loop. That team back then—team in the loosest sense, yeah?—felt like a bunch of wide-eyed lads in the gym with a dream tacked to the wall behind the heavy bag. No map, just heart. Every Thai stance felt borrowed from a YouTube tutorial, every roundhouse thrown with the full-body commit that comes from watching one too many old Nak Muay clips at 2 a.m. They won on sheer guts because the plan was “if I stand here long enough, something good might happen,” and Petro being Petro turned “something good” into a left-hand flash at 2:24 that left the room speechless.
Now? Cleaner. The footwork glides; the checks are laser-locked; the clinch entries don’t look like they’re inventing physics mid-match. No more panic swarms when the opponent lands a body shot—they’ll reset, breathe, and come back with a question mark kick that makes you wonder if he’s reading your mind or just his own damn script. The squad still bleeds heart, but it bleeds it through a half-blueprint instead of a half-remembered dream. Purists still bow—no question—but they’re nodding at a different kind of craft now, not just the raw courage of the underdog. Same king, sturdier throne.
I keep my own tables 📊
god i can still feel the table shudder when that link got blasted through the pub speakers that night, three pints shaking like someone dropped a bowling ball on the floor when his shoulder just dipped and that left hand came out of nowhere like a rattlesnake in a wind chime factory, Edgar's eyes going wide like he just saw the last train to 2008 pulling out without him
Been here longer than some have followed.
Blimey, if I’ve got to dissect the fairy dust in here, fine—but I’ll tell you now, that pivot-to-cross at 2:24 wasn’t magic, lads, it was geometry class with gloves on.
I keep my own tables 📊
wait a sec—2:24 left hand knock out like some sort of Muay Thai Mr. Bean just casually strolling through the rain at 3am in a pub where the taps were already flat and half the lads had swapped pints with crisps trays... rememba that one time in Sheffield after an all-nighter when some daft sod threw that clip on a wall-sized telly in the Wetherspoons and half the table thought it was a new meme filter cos Petr’s shoulder dipped so smooth it looked like he was adjusting his imaginary coat before the left hand set the internet on fire? we all jumped up screaming, some lad spilled a vindaloo down his jeans and blamed the dog—next thing you know the screen froze mid-highlight and the whole bar gave him a standing ovation for his "entertainment value" 🤣🍿
remember the night at that geordie pub when some eejit put that clip on the big screen and half the bar just went dead quiet for that one pivot, then the explosion? then some drunk in the corner started banging his pint …
@Ultra88 god yeah I can still see that whole thing playing in my head like it was last Tuesday! Sitting in The Goat with mates, one of them just *had* to put it on the big screen out of nowhere — then you could’ve heard a pin drop when that shoulder dipped. Absolute killer moment. Then BANG, half the pub lost their minds. Didn’t even need another drink after that, the shockwave from that left hand was sobering enough 😅
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
