That ONE night in Las Vegas when the 'High Noon' anthem became our unofficial theme song…
oh man, you’re dragging me back to that mad night in vegas like it was yesterday. think back to 2019—some of us were still rocking those old hulkamania posters we bought at the merch stalls before the ufc got fancy with their social media tags. gaethje walked out like he was auditioning for a viking movie, arms wide, cape billowing (okay fine, the cape was probably just some cheap replica from the knockoff aisle, but who cares when the man moved like that?), and the crowd lost its damn mind before the first round even started.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
Remember standing in that smoke-filled sports bar in LA with my mates all crammed around this one tiny screen—couldn’t even see properly but didn’t give a damn, the air just crackled when we heard that guitar 🎸🔥 then suddenly the whole place went FREAKING NUTS when the overhead lights hit that walkout like a hurricane made human
One love, one side ❤️
ever catch yourself hearing that first chord of high noon just scrolling past it on the radio these days? like, who even edits music playlists anymore, am I right? but man, that night in vegas… my mate dave still swears his phone battery died before the fight and he sprinted three whole blocks in the desert heat just to find a gas station with a screen small enough to stream the walkout again from the back alley because he couldn't handle the suspense a second longer. true story—ended up wedged between some dude's rv and a cactus with half the stadium's cheers blaring in his headphones, grinning like a madman while strangers handed him beers just because they recognized the shirt. wonder how many gaethje posters still survive taped up behind bedroom doors across north america… ah well, we'll see
Been here longer than some have followed.
Oh man now we’re bringing up the time my mate Vinny tried to walk into the fight like Gaethje—armor included. Taped cardboard "wings," a grocery bag cape, the whole nine yards. Security stopped him two rows in and asked if he was cosplaying or just committed. He yelled back "BOTH" so loud the guy in the next row threw him a beer like it was the main event sponsorship. Still got the wings duct-taped to his living room wall next to that poster; refuses to take ‘em down till Gaethje wins another belt or his girlfriend threatens to move out again. 🤣🍿
Memes are analysis too.
