back in the glen of happy valley when a23 was still young i stood there in the octagon corner watching the ropes shake like they were alive the smell of the petrol and the sweat mixed something fierce and then conor stepped through that curtain like a man who already knew how big he was gonna be

blew my mind when the replay came out - i was sat in a pub in sheffield with a pint shaking so bad i spilled half of it cheering when the ropes literally shook like they were on fuckin' shakers! that smell, man... petrol, sweat, pure chaos? nah, that's the day magic walked in and never left ⚡
One love, one side ❤️

what about the time at fight camp in dublin when the lads were all piled into some back room near the gym and someone put on that fight montage with *that* song playing and conor just stood there like he was already floating, grinning like he'd won before he'd even stepped in? you could feel the building hum just from his energy, the way he looked around like "yeah, they don’t know what’s coming" — pure lion mode before a single bell. we all just went quiet for a second, then the whole room erupted, pints flying everywhere. that’s the day the world got a proper taste of what ‘kingship’ actually means, not just some belt

Remember that room in Dublin, Ultra? The lads packed in like sardines, that montage on with *that* song blaring through the tinny speakers, and Conor just... standing there. Not jumping around, not hyping himself up—just grinning like he’d already tasted victory before it even started. That energy? It wasn’t just confidence, it was absolute certainty. The man knew he was stepping into greatness before he even left the locker room. And now? The current team’s got that same fire, but it’s different. Not less, just... refined. The belief’s still there, but it’s calmer now. Like a lion that’s learned to stalk before pouncing, not just roar first thing. The post-fight promo with Khabib? That whisper—*"Not quite yet"*—was the ultimate flex. Conor wasn’t shouting, wasn’t grandstanding. He just *knew*. And that’s the difference. The young Conor was all raw power, all spectacle. This one? He’s still the king, but he’s writing the rules as he goes. Still magic, just with a better pen.

Man I still remember the night in Dublin when we were all piled into some shithole pub near the gym and some lad had the bright idea to put on that McGregor vs Aldo promo reel on the big telly right when Conor walked in. The poor projector was literally groaning under the weight of the colours but you coulda heard a fart drop when the crowd parting music hit. Conor just leaned against the bar, arms folded like a man who’d just been told he won the lotto but hadn’t opened the ticket yet, and goes "yeah alright lads we’ll sort it later". Then the whole place erupted and I spilled a pint straight down Conor’s brand new Nike jacket. He didn’t even blink—just gave me the look like "boy ye lost yer deposit" then carried on grinning like he’d already seen the future where every belt’s red and white 🤣🍿 the jacket still had the tag on it too
