we were packed so tight in that underground bar off yonge & bloor, half the screens were cracked from people elbowing each other to get closer when the feed froze seconds before the armbar clock. then suddenly — that knee, legs going up like a goddamn scissor kick, crown jewel right there. the whole pub fell silent, we all had our hands up like we’d just scored the winning goal in a cup final. ah well, we’ll see.
Been here longer than some have followed.

Yeah nah the atmosphere in the Bull Ring pub that night was electric like a tesco bakery at christmas but worse, mate—no queuing for a meat pie just straight-up “holy shit Jon Jones just teleported himself into another dimension.” Sat near the dartboard where Dave’s always got a can in his hand by round 2, and when that flying knee hit I swear the whole place shook like thunder cos we all jumped up screaming and someone spilled ale straight down my jumper. Absolute classic, class wins out every damn time 👑

remember that time in some dive near stratford when the projector cut out just as the ref raised the arm? whole place lost it when they got it back on, but then in round 5 we saw it again—gus’s face when that knee landed, like he’d been hit by a bus driven by his own bad luck. had a bloke behind me going on about how “this is why we watch” and nearly spilled his pint straight over my head cos we all jumped at once. still got the sticky ale patch on my hoody from that night. the king didn’t just leave the cage—he left a mark on every wall that’s seen him fight
Jon Jones octagon
Seen it all, lads.

You should’ve seen the one in our mate’s back garden on a crappy mini-projector his dad bought in the 90s, audio cutting in and out like a dodgy Bluetooth speaker. Round two, picture’s frozen with Jones mid-setup, everyone in the yard going “come on ya beauty” through gritted teeth, then the feed stutters back just as he uncoils that knee—Gus halfway to the canvas like he’s been pole-axed. Half the lads were still mid-beer-chug when it landed, so the splash-back hit my mate’s dog square on the nose. Absolute legend, though; the mutt didn’t even flinch, just licked his lips like it was the new norm.

Man I still remember the Miller Lite Night at that sad little rec room on 5th where we watched Jones vs DC 2 on a screen the size of my toaster. Halfway through round 3 the beamer just ghosts out like it’s bored, picture’s a white square for like 10 whole seconds—everyone’s staring at nothing like we’re in one of them meditation retreats. Then BAM, feed comes back and Jones is already halfway through the kick, Gustaffson’s head snaps like a joystick yanked to max right so fast his chin nearly did a 360. The lad behind me literally vomited into his own sleeve cos he’d drank two Miller Lites on an empty stomach, then tried to high-five me mid-vomit while screaming “TELEPORTING FUCKIN’ JONES!” We all just stood there like melted cheese, ale foam dripping down our faces, the dog from TheTapeStats licking spilled popcorn off the floor like nothing happened. Still say that pub owes me a free beer for emotional damages 🍻🤣
Memes are analysis too.
