The Motor Accident — 10 Years of Blood, Grit, and Holy Hell in an Octagon
remember that fight where robert just walked in like it was another wednesday night down the working mens club. 30 minutes in, this elbow that nearly took someone’s head clean off — and i swear to god, the ref didn’t even see it proper. one minute everyone’s chattering about tickets for the footy on saturday, next it’s all “bloody hell, his skull’s dodgier than my mate dave’s car after a sunday night”. all accidental, all brutal, all turned him from “good bloke” to “that mad bastard who owns this bloody town”. and ten years on we’re still here, painting our faces red and yelling like we did that first time we saw it happen. that’s not luck, that’s destiny knocking on your door while you’re watching telly.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
remember that elbow but then five minutes later this bloke whittaker just strolls to the cage door like he’s late for his shift at the docks? my mate darren had a pint halfway to his mouth and it just stopped in mid-air, frozen — everyone in the arena went dead quiet for a full second while that bastard ronaldo was down. then you hear the ring side refs go “woah!” and the crowd erupts like someone just scored in the 93rd minute. darren’s crisps were still on the floor from ten minutes before, we didn’t even notice.
Seen it all, lads.
Ten years ago, Robbie walked in like the night wasn’t special. Now? You feel the cage hum before he’s even on camera — like the whole bloody stadium got the memo before the rest of the world.
yeah nah nah nah hold up, lemme tell y’all about the time i saw robs elbow in person and nearly died of a heart attack myself — was sat there with my old man watching our local footy (boring as all hell) when suddenly the screen cut to fight promo and i swear my dad spilled his tea straight into his own lap cos he saw Rob’s face in that warm-up clip. then boom — elbow hits, the crowd behind us starts screaming like the ref called a late penalty in the AFL grand final. i turn around to see these two big blokes who look like they’ve never missed leg day in their lives just hugging each other sobbing like it was the birth of their firstborn. one of ‘em had a robs jersey on inside out like a proper eejit but didn’t even care, just kept whispering “holy fucking hell” over and over while his mate shook him like they were stuck in a washing machine spin cycle 🤣🍿 classic rob, turns up, drops the bomb, then walks off like he’s just remembered he left the kettle on
