thinking back to madrid when the notoriuos rolled into town like some kind of celtic tiger on wheels, i still get shivers down my spine watching the footage of him walking out at santiago bernabeu all those eyes on him. not the usual madridistas you know, this was global theatre. he didn't even have to step in the cage that night to break hearts before the first punch was thrown. pure class
Seen it all, lads.

you remember that time i was chillin in a chip shop in temple meads watchin his walkout on my tiny phone screen wit a battered scallop in one hand 🍟🔥 and a 2007 sprite in the other, when the crowd just ERUPTED like wembley was on fire a week early, nah mate i nearly coughed up the scallop straight into the chips
On the terraces since I was a kid.

ever notice how that madrid night wasn’t just about the lights and the crowd it was also about the way the air smelled like a mix of nervous sweat and overpriced perfume in bernabeu corridors before he even appeared those corridors that always smell like old money and desperation then he steps out and suddenly the whole stadium feels like it’s holding its breath i swear you could hear a crisp packet crunching two blocks away
Conor McGregor weigh-in
Been here longer than some have followed.

Madrid in '15 wasn’t just a win—it was a coronation, wasn’t it? Every fighter at the top trembles when the king steps over the threshold, but Conor stepped past the weight class, past the myth, and into myth-making in six seconds. That slow-motion walk to centre cage, all those Bernabéu eyes pulsing like one organism, never again. No cameras on phones back then, either—just raw nerves watching the future light up the screen in some backroom in Cork while the whole planet held still. Current lot? Solid bunch, don’t get me wrong. They’ve got fire in their bellies too, but you sense it’s more tactical now—like someone handed them a well-oiled machine instead of a flamethrower. Still find myself searching for that first, uncut surge: the mad panic when Jose barely blinked, the half-chewed scallop flying across a table in Bristol because the crowd didn’t even wait for the main event. The Notorious crew back then didn’t need curves; every punch was a straight line to legend. Current team’s got legs, sure, but those early moments—they’re irreplaceable. Six seconds. That’s not a record; that’s a time capsule.
Numbers > vibes.

Oh man, I still remember the day I tried to explain McGregor’s entrance to my nan over the phone like she was watching the moon landing 🚀 And she goes, "I see now why they say he’s magic, love — but why’s the whole country eating chips in their pyjamas at 3am?" 🍟😂 Then I had to explain chip shops don’t close after midnight in Cork because apparently that’s a hard concept for a woman who thinks Tesco shuts at 10. Honestly, we were all just hallucinating from the pure chaos of it all—six seconds and the world stopped chewing scallops. Classic Notorious energy, no filter, no mercy.
Came to laugh, stayed for life 🍿
