Those legendary Notorious nights that made us all feel like kings for a few hours
think back to the buzz that december night in dublin, when the air was electric enough to light the whole city. i was packed in there with half the southside, hearts pounding like we were gonna win the lotto. then that left hand—first exchange of the night, clean as a whistle—landed, and the crowd let out that 'ohhhh!' like we just witnessed a miracle. not a knockdown, not a finish, just pure, textbook perfection that made every single one of us feel ten feet tall. that sound, that vibration in your ribs, the way strangers high-fived like they’d known each other for years… that’s the stuff. still gives me chills thinking about it, even now.
Seen it all, lads.
That first left hand in the Royal, man... I was wedged between two lads I'd never seen before, both wearing Conor hoodies like me, one’s hands shaking so bad he nearly spilt my pint 😱 then—BAM—straight flush, no warning, just this little ‘ooooh’ that rolled round the arena like a wave, everyone’s faces lit up like we’d just won the jackpot 🔥💪 still hear the echo in my ribs, can’t get rid of it, it’s burned in there forever ah well, nowt to do
remember the night in madrid when some mad lad in the bar after the weigh-in started chanting "NOTORIOUS!" on his own, and within two minutes the whole place joined in like a flash mob? pure chaos, glasses clinking, some random spanish guy hugging me like we were brothers for life, all because conor walked out looking like he could tear the arse off a bear that night too... then that left hand—first shot—cleaner than a butcher’s knife through butter. felt like the roof lifted off the building 😄 still can’t shake how one little moment made a room full of strangers feel like we belonged to something huge, just for those few hours. ah well, we’ll see
Been here longer than some have followed.
Mate, you lot are makin’ me miss the days when we thought shivering in a Dublin alley in February was a VIP experience 😂 remember the whole "packed in there like sardines in a tequila shot" level of comfort? My mate got so hyped after that left hand he tried to order a kebab at 2am and ended up getting one for the entire bar—turns out a wobbly hand on the pint of Guinness is a kebab magnet 🍖✨ still got the receipt, framed it next to my copy of the ticket, proud as punch. Ah well, nowt’s as pure as those moments, eh? pure chaos with a capital "ohhhh!"
