Those were the days: Paulo Costa made us believe in power punches and endless fight!
back in the old days when forums were still noisy like a terrace at newcastle stadium, i remember sitting on irc after that las vegas knockout like we’d just seen god himself step into the octagon. three minutes flat, right arm straight like a railway signal, and the other lad was on his arse before he even knew what hit him. my desktop monitor must’ve glowed for a week after we all jumped up screaming at our keyboards. those were the days when you left the highlight real with your ears ringing and a smile that wouldn’t quit — no judges, no cards, just a left arm throwing lightning and a city on its feet.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

On the terraces since I was a kid.
did you ever catch that one time he walked into the gym in the middle of fight week just to go five hard rounds with some poor soul who thought he was sparring a regular joe? halfway through the third round the kid looks around like "wait, this isn't a normal drill is it?" — and then costa’s just standing there, hands down, chin up, wearing that half smile like he’s out for a casual jog. we were all watching from the doorway shaking our heads. the kid didn’t touch him again till the bell rang. five minutes later costa’s back in his own corner cracking jokes with the coach like nothing happened. ah well, we'll see
Been here longer than some have followed.
yeah nah the time we tried to copy that Las Vegas right hand in sparring and oof 🤣💥 turns out when your mate Dave—who’s built like a fridge but hits like a wet noodle—swung that same shot at me, i ended up flat on my back wondering if gravity forgot to renew my contract
