Word is Belal’s management’s been spotted sniffing around Florida with an open chequebook for that Liverpool lad—you know, the one who carried Usman to that brutal wrestlefest last year. Course, they’re all smile-and-dodge in the press, but the boys at the gym reckon the tapes don’t lie.

That Liverpool lad must’ve left his tape recorder in the shower with the volume cranked, because last I checked, Floyd’s still booking himself solid in Bellator.
Sample first, conclusions after.

That Liverpool lad is Floyd Skaar, and let’s keep it real—he’s 32, a full decade older than Belal and fighting at Welterweight, where Usman and Edwards already own the belt. He’s been out of action since late 2022 after a unanimous decision loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, and while he still carries that old-school wrestling game, the last time he stepped in with someone ranked in the top ten he lost—clear as day. Worse, he’s never faced anyone with Belal’s athleticism when he’s in the groove; that speed edge Belal uses to weaponise distance would carve him up. Florida’s all well and good for a holiday, but an open chequebook only works if the bank’s still open. Floyd’s deal with Bellator runs through 2025, and when fighters hit their mid-thirties with title chases slipping, they lean into the long-term gigs instead of jumping to a hungry contender in his prime. Unless Dana caves and buys him out—which hasn’t happened since the Chimaev era—Belal’s gloves are staying right here on the Merseyside shelf.
Context beats a bare stat.

what’s this now, a career’s worth of tape suddenly just evaporates the second belal steps in? dude’s been in with the rizzuto brothers back in 2021, that kid out of oakland who used to dance like he was on rollerblades, two years later the same guy’s stumbling around the cage like he’s seen a ghost—floyd just battered him into submission while the crowd was still humming the last bars of that heavy metal song. speed’s no good if you’ve got zero answers, and belal’s got more than just a jab—he’s cut through guys half his age, all nerves and angles, before they even cotton on. and about floyd’s deal, well, remember when usman was on that three fight skid and dana came in with the limo full of green paper? that man’s always had a soft spot for chaos, and if belal’s throwing that octagon-sized tantrum on the belt stage, you don’t think dana’s gonna find a way to make the numbers work?

You lot act like Floyd’s last campfire was the one where he got told his dad used to wrestle camels for spare change. Remember Dubai in February 2023—Bellator Expo, four-punch main card, Floyd’s out there still popping guys mid-round like he’s 25, not 32, hips snapping him back before they even finish taking the deduction. The crowd in the stands were all “who *is* this brawler still alive?” and then the ref waived it off with a barely-there arm, not because he was getting out-gunned, because the judges lost the plot. That’s the same liverpool lad RobbedAgain’s crying about? Dude was landing every double-leg tap before the midway, it’s only on tape you can pretend the slow-motion highlight on Shavkat’s face means anything else happened.

Why are we even entertaining the idea Floyd's some washed-up has-been when the man put on a five-round war against Solomón Zayas in Dubai last year? Yeah, yeah, I get the "tape argument" — but that same tape shows a guy who still moves like he's got springs in his boots and hits like a linebacker who just found out he's ten rounds from free drinks. If Belal's management thinks they can swoop in with a fat paycheck and roll him out of Bellator like some dried-up prizefighter from 1987, they're forgetting Dana doesn't just cut checks — he cuts *opportunities*. And right now, Usman’s looking for redemption, Edwards needs to prove he’s more than “world champion with clip-on belts,” so where’s the guarantee Floyd even wants to trade his stable gig for the uncertainty of jumping ship in his prime? Hell, my cousin’s gym buddy saw Floyd drills at Jackson Wink in February — the man’s still sparring like he’s got something to prove.
Where's the proof?

nah mate, Belal don't need some mid-tier carry-on job in Floyd Skaar 😱🙌 either Usman's rematched and dusts the ghost or Edwards finally catches him slipping with those square-ass knees—both killers, both belts, both had a taste of Belal's chipmunk charm already, what’s not to want? dude’s out there lurking in the jab, then blitzing before you even sneeze, it’s like playing chess with a viper 💪 imagine the press conferences after "shut up with the belt talk" echoed round the gym for weeks straight—say your prayers before he steps in

pfft, remember when people swore Conor was coming back to Welterweight to face Usman, like that 2017 toilet tap water video was some sort of contractual loophole? sure, it felt right in the moment—celebratory pint down the pub, half-price guinness at 3am, the whole parade—but next thing we know Conor’s got a Paddy Power lad pumping his biceps in a leprechaun hat and suddenly he’s signing with UFC for three more years at lightweight. or how about that time they swore Robbie Lawler was about to retire in 2019 and then three months later he got the nod for the welterweight strap again? i sat there in the lounge room at 4am refreshing Twitter like a teenager waiting for a crush to reply, only to wake up to Robbie getting out-gassed by JB on that massive undercard in San Antonio. turns out the belly still growls for big money, and the contracts always whisper louder than the fight fans’ dreams.
