Word is McGregor’s new advisor after his split with Dana got cold feet on that bare-knuckle gig, and Makhachev’s coach’s phone been burning with offers—rumour mill says Irish lad wants a proper welterweight tilt before he calls it quits. Meanwhile Weidman? Nah mate, he’s ghosting the Xanax ads and chasing middleweight belts like some retired gym bro on a glory hunt—sounds mental, but you know what? Some fans still got the Feinstein ticket stubs from 2013 still framed.

Had any of us last seen McGregor on a fight card without hype? Get me concrete chatter with a timestamp—not some Reddit shadowboxing after three pints.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

What the actual FUCK?! that Irish lad pushing 40 tryna take OUR belt?? Weidman out here collecting dust from the whole world except the hype train, and now he wanna come smash our soul when Chris is already crying about bare knuckles 🤬 nah mate LET HIM SIT ON HIS XANAX ADS! Makhachev dont need him—WE need Makhachev STAYING hungry, scaring the whole division wit his neck-snapping waltz every 8 weeks. But if we DID put that trilogy on? Chris back in the cage two years after the tap? I’d live in these replays for DECADES 🔥💪 grab the popcorn, crank the volume to eleven, and watch the sickest trilogy since Silva vs Jones—WE GET THE MIDDLEWEIGHT GOD WE DESERVE OR THEY BURN THE DIVISION TO THE GROUND
Islam Makhachev MMA fight
Heart with the team, head on pause.

Makhachev’s next move isn’t some hype reel—it’s logistics first. Middleweight’s the logjam right now: Israel Adesanya still chewing on remnant belts, Sean Strickland holding a grip he’ll likely never squeeze tight, and nobody’s stepping aside for a trilogy. If Usman Nurmagomedov stays in the gym too long we might see a quick top-up fight, but Weidman’s age isn’t just a footnote; he’s 39 now, coming off a five-year layoff where he wasn’t exactly stacking sparring partners. Even McGregor’s bare-knuckle stroll looked sharper than whatever glove Weidman’s throwing on. And let’s not pretend the politics line up. Dana’s barely squeaking out two marquee slots a year for Irish stars as it is, so unless Conor’s suddenly got shares in Abu Dhabi I don’t see the purse math closing for Weidman. Makhachev’s coach sniffing welterweight offers tells me Islam’s own camp is hunting flexibility—3x defenses plus the occasional homecoming makes more sense than swapping 185 for another welter datebook that ends in a retirement presser. If the trilogy ever does crawl onto the table it’ll need three variables to pencil: Weidman’s doctors green-lighting one more surgical sandwich, Islam’s own schedule refusing a late-notice rewrite, and a sanctioning body willing to waive “three-fight wait” like they did for GSP–Vettel. Two out of three and you’re still praying the cage holds together.
I keep my own tables 📊

ahhh that analyst just painted the whole picture with a goddamn tiptoe—like we’re all supposed to sip tea while we watch our belt get jostled around by folks who haven’t thrown hands in five years i was at the gym this morning sparring with a kid half my age and he kept falling asleep mid-fight so i had to remind him combat sports is basically napping for adults—meanwhile McGregor’s Bare Knuckle calendar looks sharper than whatever Chris was doing in those gap years he spent surrounded by pillows and empty pizza boxes remember when Wanderlei Silva came back at 39 and dropped everyone like it was still 2008? yeah no? well that’s ‘cause nobody let him—a middleweight trilogy where Chris dusts himself off after all that Xanax commerical couch time would be more fire than that Anderson Silva v1 fight where he basically fought on cruise control just to keep the lights on logistics my foot. we’ve seen this before—middleweight division’s not a fortress, it’s a damn revolving door if you know where to kick it. Adesanya’s been chewing on belts like they’re chips, Strickland’s holding that strap like it’s a newborn he forgot how to burp, and Makhachev stepping in there with three defenses under his belt and a neck that looks like it was forged in Grozny would clear the whole mess in one waltz. politics don’t matter when the entire crowd is chanting for a trilogy—Dana’s got two hands, one for money and one for paperwork, and if he smells box office like a shark in bloodwater he’ll scrawl his signature with a Sharpie
Been here longer than some have followed.

fight hype’s the one thing we all signed up for, then left in the fridge like a dodgy meat pie by morning remember when everyone was screaming for Diaz–McGregor trilogy back in 2016? press conferences, memes, the works—until Dana said nah and the dream curdled like cheap milk or how about Wanderlei vs Vitor at 40? all those screams for round three, all that nostalgia porn, until Wanderlei walked away without the trilogy ever landing its first punch time will tell, sure—but you can set the calendar reminder now, then come back in two years to see if this one’s any different
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
