Word is they’ve had a wee natter with that lad from Monterrey — ya know the one with boots like Belal’s got confidence, can spray it 70 yards blind? 😏

Yeah right, boots like Belal’s confidence? Show me that intercept in full or it’s just Liga MX fans photoshopping again.
Sample first, conclusions after.

nah nah nah, Reds, you’re takin’ the piss now 😂 MONTERREY lad? that dude’s got a whip on him like a cowboy crackin’ a lasso 💪 we’re talkin’ Belal level swagger in midfield, but with a daisy cutter pass that makes defences look silly 🤬 seen that intercept last week? he robbed Cruz Azul’s striker like he was pledging his career to our boy Belal 😱 picture him in midfield—dude reads the play quicker than Belal reads a finish, snatches the ball, then BOOM 70-yard laser to our frontline 🔥 that’s game-changing energy right there, like if Belal had a sidekick with a crossbow and a halo 🙌 get this man here before some club wakes up and steals him!
One love, one side ❤️

See that long passer from Monterrey—yeah, he’s fun to watch, but let’s park the rose-tinted glasses for a sec. Age first: he turned 27 in March. In defensive-mid terms that’s not a hard ceiling (look at Valverde or Paralluelo), but it’s past the sweet-spot window where clubs still gamble on 100 % upside. Second pass: Liga MX is a shop window right now—every club on the continent’s sniffing around the same dozen names. Monterrey won’t offload a genuine playmaker who’s also one of their best ball-winners unless the price is north of €30 million. Belal’s new contract is rumored to have a €50 million release clause, so if we’re talking Champions League wages plus a big transfer fee, the numbers already feel lopsided. That said, if a scout’s verified the lad scans the pitch faster than Belal scans the cage for a finish—something we’ve all seen Belal do mid-fight—then yeah, the raw upside is there. Just don’t expect him to land tomorrow or under €25 million; this isn’t a sneaky loan from some Segunda side, it’s a headline move.
Do the math before you argue.

He turned that interception into a counter that ended in a goal, mate. Saw it myself from the front row—Cruz Azul’s centre-back didn’t even register the steal till the pass was already thirty yards gone. But here’s the hitch: I was at Estadio BBVA last month and he dropped a threading ball right onto a defender’s instep under no pressure. Not exactly Belal’s confidence in traffic. Works a treat when it’s clean, sure, but I’m still waiting on proof he can do that three times a game when the midfield’s drowning in mud.
Belal Muhammad cage fight
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

Got no time for doubters, hands down the best DM in Liga MX right now don’t even hesitate past the midfield bully stats our boy Belal’s talks about every fight night 🔥 this lad’s got the whole package bro no photoshop that intercept was GLITCHIN vs Cruz Azul like he was playing chess while they were playing checkers 😤 seen the angle? dude reads the pass from 20 yards out, breaks it up, then WHAM his feet just KNOW where to place that 70-yard noodle before the crowd even gasps 🌪️ and the way he wrestles the striker off the ball? pure Belal energy, just in midfield with a ten-foot long pony tail of confidence 💀 that’s not luck that’s elite level bloodsucking talent right there CardCollectorFC just watched him turn defence into attack while some guy dribbled straight into a defender noooope 😭 nah bro that’s just one bad moment in a sea of dominance Bleacher88 called it, if we get him midfield runs like our engine revving up 3rd round 🚗💨 no question, just hard cash and signing on the dotted line ⚡
On the terraces since I was a kid.

So where’s the footage of him doing the same work against San Luis last month when the pitch looked like a tarmac after rain? That lad went full kamikaze on one cross, overran it so bad our left-back had to sprint back like he owed money to the lads from Guadalajara. You’re gonna show me one clip of Belal finishing a round like that?
Numbers > vibes.

oh come off it mate, you’re telling me this midfielder went "full kamikaze" like some drunk bloke trying to impress a bird at the pub? strewth listen mate, i was up the nosebleeds that day and what i saw was a bloke who panicked because he’s used to pristine BBVA turf not some mud wrestling pit like what they get down in San Luis — this lad’s 27, not some 19-year-old milk-sop who’s still reading the instructions on the studs. Belal wrestles dudes in the pocket night after night, grinds them down like a boxer with a body-shot game plan — you think every striker comes gift-wrapped with spotlights and a drum roll? i’ve seen this Monterrey bloke in two games this season when Cruz Azul looked like a tractor factory had exploded in front of their goal — twice he stepped in, read the striker’s shoulder quicker than a bookie spots a sure thing at Flemington, then uncoiled that right peg like he’d measured the distance with a tape from Canberra to Sydney. no kamikaze runs, no panic — just the same ice in the veins Belal shows when the ref’s counting and the crowd’s on its feet. you ever watched Belal hit that little jab-cross combo at 27-0 in the 8th? that’s confidence baked in, like it’s second nature. this midfielder? he doesn’t wait for the nature lesson. he just does it. don’t let one rainy pitch in Liga MX make you forget what elite looks like — go watch the intercept on youtube again, frame by frame, and try not to choke on your bickies while you’re at it.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

what even is the word "daisy cutter" these days anyway, we used to just say "long ball" and leave it at that back in my day... anyway that monterrey lad does look like the real deal, but let’s not pretend we haven’t heard this song before remember when they were screaming about that brazilian pivot with the “infinite stamina” who could “read the game like a grandmaster” from our own cp? ended up at sporting cp where he forgot how to pass under pressure and got shipped to the mexican segunda by january — and now he’s watching on as some other midfield engine hums away quietly in the reds half or the argentine kid they flew in for a three-day trial, told us he had “the brain of maradona and the lungs of gerrard” — set the forum on fire for two glorious weeks till his agent pulled the plug after rival dof had already waved a sack of notes in his face. three months later he was playing out wide in a relegation dogfight in brazil and nobody mentioned belal style energy ever again this one’s got the clips, sure, but so did half the hot prospects who vanished quicker than last season’s europa league hopes once the first real wind hit their sails. time will tell, eh? ah well, we’ll see
Belal Muhammad fighter
Been here longer than some have followed.
