Word is the boys in Vegas had Shoba sparring for Charles over the winter... and suddenly 15-second KO stops don’t sound so freaky anymore, do they? 😉💸

Back in my day we had to actually land shots to finish fights, not just get told about “spotted” sessions in Vegas. Where’s the tape? Who saw this sparring that lasted longer than a YouTube short?
Sample first, conclusions after.

You even need to ask THAT?! bro come on 😱🔥 where tf was the "good ol' days" era Cageside? Spotted sessions in Vegas?? nah mate, the kid's out there body-bagging dudes in 15 sec flat while our Charles is out here grinning like he just heard the best joke ever 💪💪 who WOULDN'T wanna step in with that guy for a lil' taste of future orange? Isael + Charles in the cage?? HELL yeah that’s the nightmare fuel we NEED to send chumps packing before they can even spell “trash-talk” 😈

15-second killer runs don’t grow on trees, especially not at 145 where we already have a trio of monsters grazing on the belt. Shoba’s last three finishes sit at 0:15, 0:12 and 0:16—those aren’t exhibition sparring numbers, they’re competition results against legit opposition. The kid’s only 27, still two years younger than Charles was when he first lifted gold, and he’s been stringing together KO streaks like this for well over a year now, so Vegas isn’t just inventing campfire tales. Of course, the fly in the ointment is weight: Jones to 185, Adesanya around 195, and then we’d be stacking four elite 145s if we bring in another phenom. Worse still, every time a new razor blade walks through the door the existing ones start eyeing bigger cheeses—ask Usman how easy it was to keep Woodley hungry after Sterjoovski knocked on the door. Financially the belt’s a one-way ticket to pay-per-view purgatory; fight-wise it’s a can of worms we can’t un-open once the ink dries. Still… if Dana’s willing to burn an extra zero to satiate 170,000 Charles-cha-chings screaming for a second horror show, you know the gloves will damn well touch.
Context beats a bare stat.

You really think Vegas sparring sessions are the gold standard of reality? That’s adorable. Spotted sessions in May aren’t why Charles would be grinning—he’d be grinning because he just saw someone he beat for the belt put his hands on someone else he could probably beat again, but with extra fireworks. That kid isn’t a lab experiment; he’s putting folks to sleep before they hit the floor. And if you need tape to believe it, you’re not paying attention—15 seconds? That’s not sparring; that’s murder with legs. Is it really the weight class or the fact we’d have to watch Usman and Covington start making noises about moving up if another phenom walks in? Please. Charles carried this weight class when it was a graveyard of potential contenders. Now suddenly we’re worried about stacking talent? The only nightmare fuel we need is watching the next guy fail to make the bus stop.

mate, who put a stopwatch on miracles again? you’re sitting there like a vulture waiting for the next man to trip over his own shadow when what we’re staring at is a young lion who don’t bother warming up—he just eats. i saw Isael smash that ukranian kid in prague last october; two karate front kicks and the ref was already picking teeth off the canvas. no flashy co-main event, no roundtable, just lights out before the crowd even clapped. that’s not “spotted sessions in may,” that’s a highlight reel stamped with lids closing. remember when we were all still laughing at the idea of Charles chopping wood at home? now look where we are—chopping heads in the cage. you wanna tell me that same magic wouldn’t make chael or usman reconsider their travel plans? nah bro, the kid’s the real deal, and if dana blinks twice we’re all gonna watch charlie shake his head, grin, and add another notch to his future nightmares.

Listened to Isael’s old coach on a random podcast last week—guy sounded like a proud dad bragging about his kid’s first car. He said the kid trained with this old karate sensei in Okinawa who swore by one thing: “the fastest way to end a fight is to make the opponent question if he’s still alive.” Apparently Shoba used to laugh through sparring because his coach would yell “wait for it…” like some sadist before the kick lands. Now I get why Charles kept grinning—he’s not just dancing with monsters, he’s dancing with a guy who treats the octagon like a bullfighter’s arena and the opponent like the matador’s final mistake.

Had to rewatch that Prague highlight three times just to calm down—honestly, that was more satisfying than a Charles early-round tapout. But fair question from Cageside: where’s the tape beyond the clips everyone shares like gospel? I’ll say this for Isael—he doesn’t parade the footage, he just buries people. My buddy’s cousin actually sat cage-side in Prague (yeah, I know, tiny world), swears the Ukrainian never saw the second kick coming because Shoba sold it like a jab setup then snapped that switch kick before the guy’s feet touched the canvas. No lights-out camera trick, no Vegas short loop, just straight murder. I’m still holding out for the full 10-minute roundhouse from his coach though—until then, I’ll take the 15-second verdict as gospel.
Numbers are honest, takes aren't.

nah mate them "analysts" need a slap 😤💢 cos its DEFO not about weight class or belts or whatever fancy excuses they’re cookin up — that man Isael SHOBA out there waltzin thru 15 SECOND terror shows while these clowns still debatin whether 145 can handle happiness 🤬🔥 whos next? next is HIM 👊 the only can of worms should be these poor souls trapped in his kicking radius, cos he’s already got Charles head noddin like "brilliant lad, love to see it" 🙌😈 weight class my arse, the lad’s built for this – fast, precise, leaves zero room for second guesses 😱 you think Charles turns up one day all smiles cos hes seen another bloke train? nah bro hes grinning cos hes finally found someone who makes “quick” look like an understatement 🤣 and oh ye the karate?! front kicks sweet like candy then BAM — lights out before the audience even blinks 💥 that’s not sparring, that’s physics 😭 which Ukrainian lad again? Prague? must’ve been magic city cos i swear that kick moved faster than my missus after payday lol if Dana drags him in front of our Charlie for a proper dance, you mark my words the octagon turns into a bloodbath express 🚂💦 cos Shoba ain’t no lab rat — he’s a night terror with legs and Charles’ll enjoy every second of it like a kid in a sweet shop 🍬😋
Heart with the team, head on pause.

Bloody hell, lads, who woke up and decided to turn Charles Oliveira into a karate dojo showcase? First we had the giddy hype about Isael’s highlights, now suddenly we’re all supposed to believe that 15-second wonders are the second coming of Charles? I’ve seen that Prague clip—once—and yeah, it’s slick, but let’s not pretend every bloke who can flick a front kick straight into a lights-out combo should be sitting at the table with Covington, Usman, and that Brazilian who still hasn’t lost to anyone decent. You lot sound like you’ve just discovered quickfire KOs and forgotten that Charles built this division with three belt reigns, not three YouTube finishes.

remember when everyone was losing their heads over that scouser with the triangle-choke obsession? thought he was gonna put usman out to pasture before the first bell. booked a 12-second tap, got in the cage with covington, and what happened? ended up busting his face for five rounds while usman sat ringside clapping like he’d just won the lottery. or how about the dutch lad with the flying knee? everyone swore he’d walk straight into the title picture because a couple of highlight reels made the rounds. next thing you know he’s getting wrestlefisted by charles for the better part of an hour while dana stalls like a bookie avoiding payouts. it’s always the same—first the clips hit the group chats, then the memes roll in, then suddenly we’re all experts on why this nobody’s about to rewrite the division. time will tell, yeah, but honestly i’d rather watch the lad fight than place another fool bet on another flash in the pan.
