Word is Bisping’s old training partner’s kid’s cousin, you know the bloke, clean-bred BJJ pedigree, got Dana’s ear after that third-round triangle off Skatteboe at some Norwegian regional.
It's a lottery, not sport.

You want me to take a bet on some Scandinavian hayseed’s cousin with a clean pedigree? Show me the numbers.

You guys!! Where they been all these years?! We're out here watching our guy get picked apart by that absolute clown show defensively while this monster's just sittin' on his hands waitin' for Dana to notice! 🔥 Replace him? Nah, we firebomb the whole backend right now! Need a Diaz-style brick wall in that Octagon TODAY or we riot! Who tf let this circus continue?! Through thick and thin my ass, we need LEATHER CANVAS!
You don't abandon your own.

Right, so Jack_Ultra got a point: our guy’s been swinging in the wind more often than not while some flimsy Muay Thai billboard keeps taking punches it shouldn’t even register. But let’s cool the pitchforks for a second—Scandinavian hayseed with a BJJ label and a cousin who knows Bisping is all very colourful campfire stuff, yet zero tape speaks louder than any pedigree. Put another way, if this cousin had laid hands on Moreno inside six months we’d be screaming for Dana to FedEx his contract; as it stands, Skatteboe is a regional featherweight who hasn’t sniffed a ranked opponent in Scandinavia since that triangle—no heat, no recoil. Now, realistic? Not when the gym doors aren’t even unlocked in Cardiff for this move. We’re talking one phone call away from a Diaz-style monster who can actually walk into 185 and look like a natural fit, not a cousin who probably bench-presses sheep for pocket money.
Numbers > vibes.

Yeah, but hold on—Jack_Ultra got the mood right. This isn’t just about Moreno standing there like a stunned giraffe while some jab-happy plank saps him for rounds. We *do* need a glass jaw magnet in there, pronto. Thing is, my mate trains over in Wales with one of the old Diaz team lads, and he swears black and blue that those Diaz boys still have heat. Real deal—not a cousin’s cousin’s sheep heaving. But ZoeFaithful nailed it too: tape speaks louder than stories. If this Scandinavian cousin isn’t fighting three belts above regional, he’s not the answer. Still, we *should* have a Diaz-level plug-and-play option on speed dial because what we’re doing now is closer to amateur hour than UFC main events.

"Pull your heads outta the damn sand for two seconds will ya!" They got one job—shut the fuckin’ cage door when our guy walks in! Look, I don’t give a single flying fuck about some cousin’s cousin’s BJJ lineage while our boy’s getting caught mid-strike like a toddler in a bakery 😱🔥 We didn’t spend years backing this unit to watch him parade around with his hands down like a buffet line! Diaz-style? Nah nah nah—we need a GODDAMN TANK who turns this octagon into a godforsaken parking lot! Tape? Pedigree? FUCK that noise—send in someone who’s actually been in war zones at 185 lbs! Every round he spends there limp as wet paper we lose ground we’ll never claw back! Bring me a man who makes the cage feel like a death trap and I’ll kiss the bloody walkway myself!

Right, but how many of you have actually watched Skatteboe’s last three fights *past the first two minutes*? That triangle was a fluke on a Norwegian regional card where the ref let the guard hang there like a sack of potatoes. You’re telling me that cousin’s handing out tea and sympathy while our guy’s getting buzzsawed left and right? Pull the other one.

jesus christ harry, have you ever seen a day in the real world where swinging for the fences means anything more than swinging into the void? your guy’s out there getting picked apart and all you can do is scream “send in the bulldozer” like that’s somehow gonna magically fix the fact he’s not locking his hands or cutting off the cage? tank mode only works when someone’s actually running a goddamn game plan and not just lumbering around praying the ref saves him. remember when ronaldo was dropping elbows and spinning back kicks while the ‘tank’ they sent in kept eating knees to the liver? didn’t end well—until the tank finally got it sorted. and speaking of someone who *has* been in war zones at 185, take jack hermans—yeah the guy who looks like he bench-presses old fridges for fun. dropped right into the deep end against jones back when rashad wasn’t even finished patching up his own ribcage. hermans walked in there like he owned the joint, ate one sloppy takedown early, then spent the next twelve minutes turning that cage into his personal gym. no pedigree, no scandinavian cousin tea parties—just a man who’d been fighting specialists for years and decided right then it was his turn to eat. that’s plug-and-play. that’s plug-and-*spectacle*. so by all means shout from the rooftops for leather canvas on speed dial, but maybe—just maybe—spend five minutes watching how actual warzone fighters handle their shit instead of demanding someone throw a tractor into the octagon and calling it strategy. our boy’s got the tools; he just needs the wiring sorted.
Been here longer than some have followed.

Think the Skatteboe camp’s been so distracted polishing their "Scandinavian magic" label they forgot to ship in a sparring partner who can actually swing at real speed—least that’s the word I’m getting from the boys down in Chepstow. Heard one of their lads was running pad work last week with a journeyman welter who used to bang cages up north, and apparently the Norwegian didn’t so much as rattle the pads after round two. Came off like he’d wandered into the wrong gym for a Tuesday night. So much for the cousin’s “BJJ umbrella” saving our guy—looks more like a flimsy umbrella in a hurricane.

Hands up if anyone here’s ever shipped frozen pizzas at 3 AM only to forget you’d ordered them two hours ago—classic slacking. All this talk about Skatteboe needing a Diaz-level plug-and-play is cute, but what I can’t stomach is the way we’re throwing out “cousin’s cousin BJJ” like it’s some sort of life insurance policy while our guy’s getting carved up in the first minute. RetroGuy, you’re right about needing a glass jaw magnet pronto—BUT, and this is a big but we carry with pride—why does that magnet *have* to be Diaz-style? Last time I checked I live ten minutes from the Mayweather Boxing Club in Vegas, and I’ve seen enough amateur nights to know a six-foot-five southpaw with a Muay Thai background and a chip on his shoulder can walk into a regional door and drop dudes without ever sniffing a UFC contract. That’s not magic—just a man who showed up ready and spent two years turning his gym into a killing floor. Bring me that instead and I’ll hand over my last twelve-pack.

remember that hype we had around johnny walker a couple years back? every other post was screaming "flying tank incoming, he'll turn this place into the m25 at rush hour!" and what happened? dude got front-kicked by a 170lb journeyman who'd never sniffed past scandinavia and suddenly we were all ordering extra fries to drown the sorrows. no pedigree protection, no cousin's cousin bjj umbrella—just a man who showed up with hands of stone and boots of thunder, only to get clipped clean in the first exchange like he'd never thrown a punch before. time tells, doesn't it? we did the same thing with that canadian kid—giant frame, knockout numbers—everybody on here selling his dvd while our boy was sitting ringside with a bottle of lucozade going "where's the fire?" only for said canadian to freeze up against the first southpaw pressure fighter with a clue. no amount of skandinavian cousin tea parties would've saved that clip if you'd seen it, just brute force meeting brains for five seconds flat. so when we start flapping our gums about plug-and-play tanks or diaz magic, maybe pause and ask ourselves: have these lads ever actually stepped on that octagon under lights, or are we just collecting shiny resumes like they're pokemon cards? because last time i checked, the cage doesn't give a monkey's whether your boy trained with some old Diaz muppet—it only cares if he can close his hands and make contact. and until someone proves they can do that five rounds running, every "cousin's cousin" guarantee feels like handing out lottery tickets at a funeral.
Seen it all, lads.
