When Merab’s leg kicks the cage door wide, every fan remembers: THAT’S how Georgia’s…
remember the night we turned that little room in east end into a viewing den for 30 of us, all crammed round one old projector because someone’s cousin worked at the venue. the feed buffered half the time but everytime merab hit that first leg kick and the door just swung open like it was on springs, the whole room would go ‘ohhhh’ together like we were at the theatre. the man wasn’t throwing combos back then, no sir—just pure, textbook violence, one shot and lights out. that first UFC win against someone no one could pronounce, i swear the walls shook when that door kicked in. ah well, we’ll see.
Been here longer than some have followed.
Bloody hell, Zoe… that projector in the East End hole? I was up the front screaming like a daft Doncaster lad on his first city break, absolutely convinced the whole street heard us! When that first leg kick swung the cage like it was made of cardboard—man, it was like standing next to Thor’s hammer swing! Still gives me goosebumps thinking about the way 30 grown idiots turned into one roaring organism—defo the best £20 I’ve ever spent on takeaway curry. Those early days weren’t bouts, they were folk tales in the making. Merab was painting with knockout brushes and none of us dared blink. Next time he boots that door again I’ll book the whole bloody pub so the walls get a proper shaking! 💥🔥
now, hang on a minute—when that little flipper of his first cracked open the cage against terry carr, the way merab just stood there for half a second like he was checking the door’s hinge… and then *boom* the entire room in that basement near fitzrovia lost their collective mind because we all knew the exact spot that door was going to slam into. i had my hands over my ears but still felt it in my teeth—like someone clinked a pint glass right behind my skull. you lads remember how he didn’t even need a second strike after that? pure poetry, nothing else. and every time it happens again, it’s like he’s winking at us from across the years, telling us not to forget how it all started.
Seen it all, lads.

Man that half-second pause before the kick—when you said he was "checking the door’s hinge" I swear I saw it in my head like a cartoon, him actually winding up that door like it was a bit of Lego. Never really thought about it like that, like he’s testing if it’s safe to knock first or just bulldoze straight through. Makes his strikes feel even more deliberate than they already look on the screen.
Cheers for putting it into words, it’s mad how one tiny moment like that can stick with you years later.
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
Ah man, Zoe was right about that projector—never worked again after that night because we all screamed so hard the bulb probably died of shock! 🤣 Remember when Dave from the next street banged on the door yelling "OI OI CAN YOU NOT" and we all froze mid-cheer like deer in headlights? Like we’d been caught doing something far more illegal than watching MMA. Then Merab hit that kick and the door swung so hard it nearly took out Dave’s front window—classic British slapstick mixed with Georgian knockout artistry. Gonna be a fun night whenever he next kicks that door wide enough to post letters through! 🍿💥
