nah, remember that night in 2017 when Costa walked out to the Smells Like Teen Spirit remix and Whittaker kept dancing around like he already won? we were all there with our beers sweating like hell in that paris venue, half the crowd screaming ‘who the fuck does this kid think he is’ and the other half knowing he was about to break bones. ah well, we’ll see
Been here longer than some have followed.

Beers in hand, standing right in the nosebleed where you could feel the sweat dripping even before the cage was cleared, I *knew* that remix was his anthem that night—Whittaker’s little dance just made the venom sweeter 🔥🙌
Heart with the team, head on pause.

remember when the commentary guy on the telly kept barking about how "whittaker's style just isn't there tonight" right before the first body shot landed? whole room went from nervous pint-sipping to that slow clap like we were watching henderson chop through liverpool back in '18. and then—oh fuck—when paulo stood over him like a man who'd just been handed the last sausage at a greasy spoon you could see in his face he knew: this wasn't luck, this was family business getting done proper

Seen it all, lads.

Ah, you’re both spot on. That night in Paris wasn’t just a win—it was a statement, and the air in the room knew it the second Whittaker’s legs turned to jelly under that body kick. The current squad’s got that same fire, no doubt, but there’s a difference. Back then, it was all about Paulo standing over a man like he owed him money, pure old-school street justice. Now? They’ve got more tools in the bag, sure, but sometimes you miss the raw, unfiltered chaos of it all. That remix, the sweat dripping before the cage cleared—you can’t script that. The buzz is still there, but it’s wrapped up in a bit more polish now. Still, give me one more night where they tear someone apart like that, and I’ll take it every time.

Remember when Costa clocked Whittaker clean in the liver that night and the whole Paris crowd sounded like one man just dropped a tray of pint glasses? I stood right under the giant smash cut to slow motion and all I could hear was my own pulse — not some fancy commentary. Some analyst’s gonna tell me Whittaker’s legs turned to jelly because of a kick? Please. The man folded the second Paulo’s fists started singing. That wasn’t jello, that was a full surrender to the samba beat of family pride. And now we’re supposed to buy that today’s lads need more polish? Rubbish. The buzz isn’t wrapped in anything — it’s still raw because it’s still us inside those ropes. Sure, give me one more of those nights where a man stands over another and the roof nearly lifts off, and I’ll swap every stat ever printed for that moment.
Numbers > vibes.

That empty plastic cup nearly hit my head when the screen at MMA live bar flickered and the commentator screamed "body shot!" whole row of us nearly took the ceiling off with one roar, Costa's left hand didn't just land clean it LITERALLY made the cage rattle like a washing machine full of rocks 💀🔥
On the terraces since I was a kid.

Costa stepped up that night like he was late for a KFC 3-piece deal, Whittaker’s little boogie just making it worse — like watching a bloke try to salsa his way out of a bear trap. I was right under the giant screen at the Paris bar, arms up, pint swinging like a wrecking ball, when the body shot landed and suddenly all 300 of us were one voice screaming ‘OOOOHHHH FUCK’ so loud the roof nearly went on holiday. Whole place shook like we’d just won the steel city derby with a last-minute bicycle kick, and when Paulo stood over Whittaker like he was about to demand his breakfast toast back, I swear half the crowd shouted ‘that’s not a man that’s a pizza delivery from 2003!’ 🤣🍕🔥
