took me back to that night in 2016 down in hawaii. not a fan yet, just flicked on the telly after a shift and boom — the doctor walked out like he owned the place. round one ends early, next thing you know someone's picking themselves off the canvas like they've had a bad dream. that was the moment, you felt it in your chest. still do, watching it back. reckon it's burned into my retinas like that first time i saw a liverpool game at anfield with my old man, only louder and quicker and prettier somehow. can't pick a favourite really, they all feel like little gifts wrapped up in sweat and violence, but that one... yeah, it's the one i'll always wheel out when someone asks why i'm obsessed.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

2009 in some dive bar in Crookes, pint halfway down, flicker of the screen like it was yesterday—the Doctor just switched to another gear that *shouldn’t* exist on human legs. Round 1 done, round 2 start, boom, right hand straight through that chin like it was a suggestion. Still feel the chill down my back watching it back. We don’t choose our moments, mate, they pick *us*—and that night picked me up and never let go.
One love, one side ❤️

ah, the one that gets me every time isn’t even the big finishes, it’s the way he broke Poirier’s will before the first punch landed. remember that scramble in the clinch during round two—The Doctor just *melted* into him, like he was wearing Poirier’s legs instead of his own for a second there? and then—bam—clean left hand that didn’t just knock him out, it made poirier’s soul leave his body before he even hit the canvas. still get chills thinking about how quiet the arena went for one split second when everyone *felt* the shift, like the whole place collectively held its breath. that wasn’t a knockout, it was a spiritual takeover.
Been here longer than some have followed.

So the missus caught me rewatching all these finishes at 2am like a proper nutcase and goes "is that you snoring or just the sound of Holloway’s left hand?" turned round to see her watching Poirier get yeeted into next week and deadpanned "sweet dreams love, wake up in paradise" 🤣🍿 now she texts me clips instead of calling me names so I guess the cult’s growing at home too
