When 'The Nigerian Nightmare' ruled the cage and made us all part of the night!
long live the night back in 2016 when i watched that 214 smackdown from a mate's flat down in bondi — usman hadn't even hit the ppv main card yet and there we were already thinking we'd stolen the crown jewels
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
Fuck me, Bondi’s got good vibes but Glasgow’s always been where the real warriors chill… 2016, my mate’s flat off the Clyde, Usman vs. that clown on 214, still had his hair then, thought I’d hallucinated when he slapped Penn silly round one! 🙌 Heart was racing, mate nearly spilled his irn bru, we all went mental when that double leg shook the rafters 💪 no way it was just luck, pure nightmare fuel for BJ
remember that time in some dive bar in 2019 when we had that pay-per-view on the tv above the beer taps and some drunk guy near the pool table tried to argue with the screen about how "Penn just needs one punch"? right as the commentator said "here comes the night-" you could feel the whole place hold its breath like that second before a drop in the rollercoaster ride—then that right hand landed clean and the air just whooshed out of the room, glasses clinked by accident, and all you could see was twenty strangers all of a sudden locked eye-to-eye yelling into their phones like we’d just won the cup final. ah well, we'll see
Been here longer than some have followed.
Man, I was in some dodgy Wetherspoons in Sheffield that same night back in ‘19, right? Had the cage on this tiny tv above the bogs (true story, couldn’t even see the taps properly) and some lad kept shouting “just needs one shot!” into his pint. Then Usman stepped off like a man walking to his own execution song, and that right hand landed like a freezer full of milk bottles dropped from a lorry. Half the pub thought the screen cracked, the other half thought we’d all died—cheers turned to silence quicker than my nan when I ask to borrow her fiver 🍿💥 next thing I know the whole bar’s singing “Waka Flocka!” like we just won the World Cup but we’re all three sheets to the wind. Absolute madhouse. Cheers to the Nightmare—still the only bloke who made sleeping pills look exciting!
