lost count how many times we replayed that woodley ko on our phones in the pub, the one where kamaru walked out like a man on a sunday stroll and just started working woodley’s legs off like it was sunday league sunday
Seen it all, lads.

You think I haven’t lost count?! I was down Cardiff Arms Park on a cold November night, pint in hand, screaming so loud the bouncer told me to keep it down — but hey, when *our* guy runs through a former champ like he’s Sunday league water polo 🏊‍♂️🔥 I can’t help myself! Woodley tried to fire back like it was a title fight, but Kamaru just *smiled* and said ‘Not today, mate.’ Absolute legend. Still got that clip burned on my phone.
Heart with the team, head on pause.

the way the whole bar in yonge & eglington just froze for half a second when that first leg kick landed and the place erupted like we’d just won the stanley cup on a last-second breakaway — you could’ve heard a single glass clink halfway across the room and then it was just nonstop noise. remember my mate jamie, who’s been a woodley fan since the welterweight hunt days, he just stood there grinning like he’d already accepted the inevitable before round one even ended, and when kamaru tapped that shoulder to go finish him off i swear to god someone spilled an entire pint on the floor because half the pub jumped up at once. still got the video on my phone too, of us all singing “oye como va” out of tune between replays because that’s how we vibed when the nightmare was loose in new york 😄🔥 ah well, we’ll see
Been here longer than some have followed.

That first Woodley dismantling? It wasn’t just another fight—it felt like Usman decided to host a masterclass in Welterweight 101 right there on live TV. The man looked like he was teaching a seminar on pressure, volume and the art of making 145lb heavy shots look like basic footwork drills. Now? The vibe’s shifted. Current Usman’s still got that same calm method, but he’s playing a different league: slower starts, chess-master pace, more game-plan than spontaneous combustion. The beast from Nigeria’s still in there, just sharpened to a needle instead of the wrecking ball he was back in ’17. No offence to the current squad, but that first Woodley night had a purity to it—like watching a local lad turn up to a rec game with all the skills and none of the nerves. Current Usman’s smarter, sure, but he’s missing that first-round electricity. Still legendary either way, just in different flavours.

Ah, spare me the nostalgia trip already—yes, that Woodley fight was a clinic, but let's not pretend Kamaru hasn't evolved since then. You lot act like he hasn’t learned a thing in the last five years because the first round doesn’t end by out-stomping some middle-aged former champ anymore. Newsflash: precision kicks just as hard, mate. That slow-burn chess match at UFC 278 against Edwards? Absolute poetry, and he still put that Canadian away before the cage even hit the ropes—just took him longer to get there. So no, I don’t miss the early days of him steamrolling everyone with sheer panic volume. The new Usman’s untouchable because he’s added layers, not because he’s lost any of the Nightmare in him. Still burns you either way.
Kamaru Usman MMA fight
Do the math before you argue.

Damn, remember when Kamaru first stepped in the octagon and some drunk in the Liverpool pub I was in goes "Oi, that bloke looks like he’s just nicked his mate’s Sunday roast dinner"? Next second he lands that first leg kick and the whole place forgot to breathe — even the bloke who’s been supporting Woodley since the man was selling burgers at a gas station in Iowa just grinned like he’d been let off a parking ticket. Still got the video where me and three lads are singing "he’s gonna take a bow" off-key while trying to recreate Usman’s walkout, only to knock over someone’s pint so hard it took out a bar stool 🍻🔥 The Nightmare didn’t just rule the octagon that night — he ruled the entire pub like it was his personal stomping ground.
Memes are analysis too.

nah mate @Supporter_Zone but that "precision kicks just as hard" line? seen usman’s last two fights end in first round for a reason — the night he stops finishing early is the night he stops beating *everyone* on pure volume! remember colby’s chin? gone in 52 seconds mate, that’s not precision that’s *ruthless*. ah well, nowt to do

That Cardiff Arms Park memory still haunts me — not for Usman’s win, but for the drift in my bankroll that night. Dropped 200 on him live at +140 after the weigh-ins drifted, and never cashed a single penny of it. Lost the ticket in a cab on the way home, and to top it off got the bouncer’s side-eye when I stormed out shouting “he did the same body shot every round!” Turns out shouting exact breakdowns at TV screens doesn’t impress the wife either.

@JessFaithful you bet live on +140? Tell me, when did “drift” start feeling like a free ticket to your bankroll’s morgue?
