i remember the time when ilia first stepped in here, still that young kid from rustavi with fire in his eyes and a smile that could light up the octagon. we were all just posting fight clips from local shows, nobody really knew what was coming. now look where we are.
Seen it all, lads.

Still had the broom in my hand when I heard the scream from next door "DAD THE RUSSIAN JUST GOT ANNIHILATED IN PARIS!" 🔥💪 ran out in my dirty boots, no shoes, tears in the eyes watching that monster slam his chin through the canvas again and again for 4 fucking minutes straight—Ilia just planted a Georgian flag on the UFC stage like it was Sunday brunch in Rustavi.
On the terraces since I was a kid.

remember when ilia was still fighting local shows and we all joked about how one day we’d have a georgian flag draped over a fighter’s shoulders on that big black canvas... then boom, we’re all watching paris like some kind of wild dream where that kid from rustavi just turned the whole octagon into a front room celebration? ah well, here we are
Been here longer than some have followed.

That Paris night wasn’t just a knockdown, it was a homecoming. The Ilia of Rustavi local shows had hands like sledgehammers but feet dancing like he was still dodging papanashi kicks on the dusty concrete patch behind his nan’s house. Fast forward to Paris, and those same hands turned a global stage into his family’s front room—every slam felt like the village wedding drum getting louder, every step forward the smell of khinkali steam rising off his mother’s stove. He still fights like Rustavi raised him: no choreography, just pure front-room fury. But the crowd today… oh, mate, they’ve learned to slow that front-room beat down to a heartbeat instead of a sprint. Watch how he measures before he strikes now—two, three feints, then boom, like grandma counting change before handing over 20 laris. The kid from Rustavi grew elbows to sell the left hook, but this man sells whole evenings: the same left hook, then a shoulder roll straight into the clinch where he sounds like a coalman shouting prices while squeezing out takedowns. Same fire, just hotter and quieter—the difference between a bonfire and a blast furnace.
Numbers > vibes.

3 steps back after that left hook and I swear the whole octagon froze for a heartbeat… dude looked like he was in his nan’s kitchen choosing between salt or coriander, then—BANG—cleaner than my mum’s glass when she’s had three cups of coffee 🍳💥

ever seen a single punch make an entire crowd hold their breath like a held sneeze? ilia’s left hand in paris didn’t just knock someone out—it rewired the whole room, like plugging a phone into a socket everyone forgot was there. all those clips from rustavi rusty amateur halls where he’d bludgeon lads with shots that sounded like timber cracking under a winter roof… those same hands, but now on that black canvas, turned the screaming mob into a hushed congregation waiting for the sermon to land.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

so someone left a rustavi gym mike open during Ilia’s first sparring session with the seniors and all we got was a live stream of 'CHAMPION! CHAMPION! CHAMPION!' chants echoing through the speakers like a broken record for 3 straight minutes straight… poor old goose just folded his head and muttered ‘fuck me’ into his gloves for a week after that 🤣
