Mate, chuck another one on the fire already — Khamzat’s got to know when to hang the gloves up, or does he? I’m just sayin’, salsa nights are great and all, but the man’s still got some carnage left in these mitts, yeah? word is... he’s sniffin’ around that free agency window like a dog in a butcher’s. 🤡💸

That free agency window smell you’re sniffing isn’t cologne—it’s the sharp aftershave of people who’ve already lined up the next ten paychecks off Khamzat’s reputation.

When'd we ever say no to a madman with blood in his eyes and a cheque in his other hand, nah? Feels like yesterday he was KO-ing everyone in sight while we're all screaming in the stands like headless chickens... imagine him back, but now he's got that purple belt glitter oin his waist and a vendetta against every titleholder left standing 🔥 who else gonna throw such wild fuckin spice into the cage that the fans lose their damn minds again. Bring the man back, let him light this division up one more time while Volkanovski's still bossing the game... another ride on that emotional rollercoaster before the man retires to sellout salsa nights 😱💪
On the terraces since I was a kid.

You ever seen a man peak at 29? That’s Khamzat right now, isn’t it? But here’s the rub—position, timing, and logic don’t care for peak moments. He’s 33, division welterweight, no room for margin. Welterweight’s already drowning in elites; one wrong step down the ladder and you’re chasing paydays or worse, faded highlight reels. UFC’s not handing out wildcards when Diaz’s still calling names and Covington’s lurking in the wings. Chimaev’s brand is chaos, sure, but chaos don’t pay bills when you’re grinding welterweight. Unless he lands on a Clash of Titans marquee or a Saudi gig where the cheque’s thick enough to ignore the pounds on the scale, logic says this is smoke. Volkanovski’s still bossing it? Absolutely. But bring Khamzat back? Only if the chequebook’s got a bigger kick than Father Time.
Do the math before you argue.

You reckon Khamzat’s salsa nights gonna hit harder than his overhand right against Paulo Costa? Place was like watching a bull in a china shop, mate — legs gone wobbly but he dragged himself up for another round just to get clipped. That’s the man we signed up for. Now imagine the Octagon doors creak open again and in he storms, all roid-rage glow under those lights, swinging like he’s still 25 instead of rummaging through the snack drawer. Volkanovski shuts it down like a proper headliner, but if Chimaev’s genuinely sniffing another fight rather than another bloody marinade session? Tell the salsa crowd to set extra plates because this isn’t retirement home vibes—this is one last hurrah before the greasepaint tour starts proper.
It's a lottery, not sport.

Right. So last week I was neck-deep in spreadsheets because, surprise, the missus reckoned we needed a holiday fund, and what do you get a lad who’s just sat through another Champion’s League round? A spreadsheet that proves Alex still shuts crap down like a turnstile counts him absent. Same bloke who made ‘em all tap back when Welterweight thought it could swallow him whole—Costa, Gaethje, Adesanya—name’s on the board before his next birthday. But Khamzat? If that dude walks through that cage one more time, he doesn’t come as a warm-up act; he walks in as the main support slot that lights the place up like a neon sign saying “you’ve paid to see fireworks, so here they are.” Now, speaking of fireworks: I’ve still got the scars from the first time he rocked up at UFC 273 after three years away—same chest tattoo, same walk, same laugh that sounded like he’d already won before the referee even checked gloves. The lad’s body might betray him at 33, but you tell me where else on this planet you queue overnight for two minutes of carnage and chaos paid for with a belt buckle? Bring him back. Make it happen.

You mean you're really gonna let Father Time tap out THE Octagon's most electric madman before he's even had a chance to run the division into the ground one more time??? 😱 nah nah nah — remember UFN 282, Miami lights flickering like disco balls while Khamzat danced round Brunson like it was his salsa night prep??? Still got the voice in my head screaming "this man's a cheat code!" from the first bell 💪🔥 if that dude retires to sellout salsa nights I'm boycotting every bar in Toronto till UFC puts him back in that cage, no cap
Heart with the team, head on pause.

You think bringing Chimaev back is some kind of easy roll of the dice? Ask yourself this—when was the last time a welterweight looked at the division and said “yeah, I’ll just drop in, flash some elbows, then bolt for another margarita commercial”? The man’s undefeated, sure, but the welterweight ladder doesn’t care about undefeated. It cares about who you beat yesterday and who’s got the gas tomorrow. Remember how fast Colby Covington turned that four-fight win streak into a red-hot payday fight with Burns? That’s the division feeding the right hungry man, not the madman dancing into a room service tray. And ring-rust isn’t a mood ring you swap for clout. Three years is longer than McGregor’s entire UFC stretch between boxing fights, and look where he’s at now. Khamzat steps back into the cage at 33 with a body that’s been through more cheeseburgers than title defenses, and we’re supposed to hand him the spotlight like it’s nostalgia night at a lounge? I could be wrong, but the UFC’s already given him one standing ovation tour—what’s to say they’ll give him another when Israel Adesanya’s still selling out Madison, Leon Edwards is patiently pocketing six-figure cheques, and the tag-team of Edwards-Masvidal is cheaper than a one-way ticket from Vegas to Miami? Bring him back if you want fireworks, fine—just don’t pretend the division hasn’t moved on without him. Volkanovski’s still the king because he picks fights that stack belts instead of salsa nights, and Volkan’s belt has been checked less than a first-round bell lately.
I keep my own tables 📊

feel like this thread’s looping back on itself like a drunk octopus on a trampoline, but fine—let’s dig up the graveyard of “one last hurrah” promises we’ve buried over the years. remember when eddie alvarez promised us one final go-round before tapping for good? turned into that single mma event in dallas where he looked like he’d borrowed dave mcalmont’s knees for the night and still scraped a draw off two judges who’d clearly had one too many bourbons. or how about tony ferguson’s “chapter three” tour, advertised as his swansong for the lightweight division? ended up running headfirst into poirier’s jab artillery while screaming “red belt destiny,” then got finished in four—all while selling oil filters between camps. chimaev’s same brand of madness, sure, but back in the day every madman swore this was their absolute last rodeo… until the offer looked juicy enough to ignore the greasepaint tour. time will tell, as they say, but the welterweight division’s already filled its quota of one last steps—let’s not mistake another salsa night invite for a main card contract.
Seen it all, lads.
