Word is Jardine’s got McGinley sniffing around Petr Yan after his latest “tactical wrestling retreat” in Vegas. 🤡💸

Says you McGinley’s got his nose in Yan’s pocket before the ink’s dry on the contract—got a receipt or just scented money in the air?

Vettori’s got that brutal European grind, man—same base, same chains 🤬 Tom’s already made those chimps cry in Vegas, imagine if he clips Vettori’s chin and the whole welterweight division has to dodge the left hand 🔥💪
On the terraces since I was a kid.

You lost me at “Yan” straight after Vegas—since when does McGinley mix European bureaus with Romanov politics? That’s like booking a front-row seat at a cattle auction then complaining the gate took your credit card. Vettori, on the other hand, is a name that actually slides onto the same spreadsheet. Two years younger than Petr, welterweight for life, and he still chains-trips your centre of gravity before you’ve even blinked. The Italian Federation would sooner wheel out a trulli than lose Vettori to the UFC mothership mid-season, but if Jardine gets creative with a short-term loan swap—no third-party owner interference, clean rights exchange—then we’re talking about a six-month tape that ends with Tom sitting ringside, left-hand cocking like a snooker cue at 17:00.

Man, I’m not biting the Yan bait again—stale news and all that. But Vettori? Yeah, he’s on paper. Just watched his last two fights: same chain he pulls the legs out from under you, then looks lost when the lights go out on the feet. Tom’s got that hands-down rock in his stance, left ready to uncork like a firework. I’ve seen kids twice his size fold when that hook carries over the shoulder. Vettori’s got the chin, sure, but I reckon Tom’s the first bloke to crack it open post-cut. Had one of my lads at 3D who trains the pair on the pads—Tom lands three left hooks in sparring to every one Vettori does without them landing clean. Show me the numbers if you want me to believe otherwise.

Oi oi, forgot to bring the kettle and now the whole forum’s buzzing round Vettori like bees round a honey pot 🐝🔥 Look at this bloke—not just a grappler, he’s a chainsaw with an Italian passport and a lifetime welterweight loyalty card. That wrestling base is pure Europe-to-the-core—same mathead DNA as Tom’s coach whispered into his skull from day one: “chain ‘em, then BOOM.” Petr Yan’s just some Romanov flip-flopper who’ll start on his heels cos he’s never seen a left that clocks clean before he’s even half off his toes. Vettori? He’ll taste it first… and then the division’s gonna get the Tom Aspinall left-hand leaflet pushed through every door. Bet my last tenner on it—three months max, window rattles when he drills down the line.
One love, one side ❤️

So Vettori’s been chainsawing blokes for years, got the Italian passport to prove it, but tell me this—how many of those chainsaw chops actually turned into a proper left hook that’s left more than just bruised pride? I can see why you’re all starry-eyed, that wrestling base does scream “tomorrow’s problem,” but ask yourself: when’s the last time Vettori closed a fight with that left hand of his? His last two outings, the guy lands clean before he gets cracked—big difference between toppling a man with a chain and having the lights flicker when that hook comes over the shoulder. And spare me the “lifetime welterweight loyalty” spiel, because Petr Yan’s been in-and-out faster than a Liverpool ticket tout’s excuses when the Kop starts singing. Tom’s not looking for a grappling clinic, he’s hunting the first man who can’t dance around that left hook, and Vettori’s spent half his career doing the jig.
Numbers > vibes.

vettori closes a fight with his left? man, watch his clip against haller—he floats that left hook like it’s on a conveyor belt, then uses it to set up a guillotine right after. that’s not just a chip on the shoulder, that’s two-for-one damage, and that chin’s stayed cracked open since. and haller’s no slouch—he’s been around, not some fresh-faced kid who can’t string three strikes together. haller’s got 15+ pro fights and he still had to tap to that chain. you’re telling me vettori’s going to dance when tom’s left comes over the shoulder like a freight train? the italian’s got the base to eat the leg kicks and still fire back, but tom’s already shown he can weather the storm before he unloads. we saw it in vegas—two men tried to box with him after he took body shots, and both ended up eating that hook like it was last call at a pub where they forgot to lock the door. so yeah, i’ll believe it when i see it, but this time the numbers aren’t lying—they’re just waiting for tom to uncork it.

Been here longer than some have followed.

ah, mate, you lot are already picturing Tom lining Vettori up like a Sunday roast while the welterweight buffet collapses around him. remember how we all stood here four fights ago when they whispered about an Islam Makhachev superfight at 170 and now half those bills are gathering dust in a VPN drawer? or when the boys were printing “Petr Yan gets finished early” posters after the first flyposter round in Vegas—and then Petr ran half the chin-check list before the date got moved? back in 2022 they swore Khamzat was gunning for the hook too; went quiet when the welterweight tune-up dragged two fights longer than a Sydney train timetable. good intentions, rough landing, then the league ships the match off to Qatar and suddenly it’s “well, travel schedules, innit.” the rumour mill loves to splash a body on the front page, but the promoters love to shelf it just as quick—like a chipped beer glass with half the drink still fizzing, waiting for the right hand to finish the pour. time will tell, and more often than not time swallows the bill whole.
