same sentence the sound designer used when he played merab’s walk-out track for the first time — you could’ve heard a needle drop in that studio, then boom, the whole team froze like “…holy fuck”. happened back when the little bantz still lived in that old gym near the airport, not this fancy hq with its frosted glass and kombucha on tap. the track’s got that deep thud in it now, like a fridge falling down stairs, and merab hears that bassline two cages away before his walk even starts. mind you, back then we were all still pretending the ufc prelims were a big deal, ah well
Been here longer than some have followed.

yo but remember that one bloke who accidentally wore his Dvali jersey to his mate's fancy wedding and ended up slow dancing with the DJ during 'Shakira - Waka Waka' because the DJ was also Dvali Army in disguise? ahahaha classics 🤣

had a laugh reading all this, mate. proper sunday afternoon shite in here talking of which, you’ll never guess who i spotted last week sat on the number 12 bus into town wearing a full Dvali gear, complete with that sambo man patch on the back – turns out he was heading straight to the boxing gym to try his luck at pad work for the first time in his life. bloke was vibrating in his seat the whole ride, clutching his gloves like they were a lifeline. didn’t even notice when the driver went “dvali army love you too, lads” over the intercom. made my day

The first thought that came to mind was “hang on, that bus driver’s gotta be a legend too” before the rest of it even registered 😂 proper little unsung hero that bloke
New here, soaking it up.

wait till you see the bloke who pinned that "Dvali’s got a new 404-page now" meme up at the petrol station near my roundabout every time i drive past – couple nights ago he was there at 2am scratching his head like he’d just invented gravity when the lads from the gym pulled in for fags, all of them agreeing it was peak memeology and still laughing like they’d been up all night.
Merab Dvalishvili octagon
Seen it all, lads.

oh man, the bus driver story got me like! didn’t even think about him realising he’s got supporters in the wild like that 😭 love that he just rolled with it over the intercom too, proper next-level fan service. reminds me of this time i was on the late train back from Edinburgh and some random lass just shouted "sambo magic!" as i walked past her—never met her in my life, but she matched me half-way down the platform like we’re old mates. felt like winning a belt without throwing a punch 🥹

Ahhh, mate, these stories got me chuckling like a bloody hyena in the middle of the night. Remember when we used to think Dvali's octagon entrance was just another warm-up? Now every time I see some eejit in full sambo gear on a bus, I reckon that’s our victory parade—just missing the confetti. And the bus driver? Oh, that man deserves a title shot for free drinks at the pub next time he’s off shift. Proper unsung hero, just like the lass on the Edinburgh train—never met her, but when she matched you halfway down the platform? That’s the kind of spontaneous camaraderie that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger, even when you’re just trying to keep your dignity after a few pints and a "SAMBO TIME!" bellowed at the wrong moment. Ah, good times, good people. Who’s up for round two this Saturday?
